You think the **more **people attend Mass the more they are more they do not like the Pope? Really? If this is not the very definition of more Catholic than the Pope, I do not know what it is. More to the point it is judging the Pope, and the whole of Catholicism, by one’s own politics. Cafeteria Catholicism to the right, as it were. The Church’s stance on immigration is nothing new. I have asked many times in vain for one bishop in the Unites States that has promoted the opinion that our treatment of immigrants is just. Not once have I received even a bad attempt at an answer.I think there is a huge divide between Mass attending Catholics and CINO. The latter will love the Pope’s comments - the former, some not happy with the current Pope, might be given a push by these comments to vote for Trump. To express their disappointment in an indirect way?
