Praying my heart out for an great improvement for you and your family.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

My coping modes go thru phases and I’m at the giving up phase right now. After the other morning when DH got up only to call me later that afternoon to say that he’d gone back to bed and overslept, I quit getting him up the rest of the week. I explained to him last night that I felt like nothing I do makes a difference.

I said that regarding his computer vs. our marriage, I’m at an ‘all or nothing’ stance. I feel like no Retrovaille weekend, no small attempts on our part, no meeting with our parish priest is going to make a lick of difference if he isn’t willing to deal with his computer addiction. I feel like just cutting back a little is like asking an alcoholic to overcome his alcoholism by just drinking a little less. It’s inevitable, all the grand schemes he has about reigning in his addiction always fall thru - he has a bad day at work, he needs more time on the computer; he disappoints himself by staying up late or screwing up his schedule, he needs more time on the computer; he gets so involved on the computer that he forgets to eat, or just eats so late and either of these makes him sick and he has to miss work, he needs more time on the computer. Eventually all of this piles up and he just gives up on his previous convictions about doing better.

I just feel like his attitude is that defiant ‘I will not serve.’ I can understand his feelings that even when he DOES try to help me where I need it, it isn’t good enough and that makes him not want to try at all. He’s right, and I want to tell him that he has to fight past that, and fight past my attitude. I wish he could understand my skepticism and doubt in his promises and inconsistencies that I’ve been dealing with for YEARS. Even if he was to become a great help on a consistent basis, it would take a huge adjustment on my part to learn to trust and somewhat disrupting my schedule and flow of my daily routines. I wish he could understand all of this and persevere in his efforts, but he just gives up and quits trying and falls back on his computer.

I’m mad at God right now and feel like He just hates me and doesn’t want me to be happy. I know logically that this is totally untrue, but this is my heart and mindset right now and my prayers are almost robotic. Just don’t know what to do.

Jesus please help this couple to help each other to be their best selves. Help them to be mutually loving and respectful, serving each other and the family wisely and generously.
Please grant them a true Christian marriage with right and just perspectives.

JLCecilia i am so sorry for your suffering. We are all praying for you, your husband and all people caught up in this awful illness called depression.
Depression is difficult to live with on a daily basis.I care for a sister who is clinically depressed who has no husband but 4 beautiful children. She sees things from her perspective only & doesnt always see the bigger picture. It comes across as laziness/not caring but she is deeply caring kind & very sensitive.I get very frustrated at times and cant always bite my tongue. She reflects on the negative parts of her life & doesnt always recognise the positives eg 4 healthy children a roof over her head & so forth.

JL this is not Gods fault/doing please dont blame Him.God loves us all and is close to us at all times.Trust in the Lord He knows whats best for us.
Try to look at singlehandedly rearing the children as a great opportunity to serve God.Yes its not fair your dh is unhelpful. But there are so many women who are childless and desperate to be a mum they would give their right arm to be in your position.
We all have crosses to bear i certainly have mine.I love you my sister in Christ and will keep you in my prayers along with all who suffer this dreadful condition of depression

Lord please help these suffering children who have depression. It is a very debilitating condition.Lord grant them healing from this lead them to you and lead us your desciples to be able to understand how to help them best.
Lord in your mercy hear our prayer Amen

Lord God, please, in Your Mercy, relieve the depression of this person, and heal the broken bonds of their marriage. Matrimony is one of Your greatest gifts to mankind, Lord - please, if it be Your Holy Will, allow this marriage to be guided to prosperity and verdancy and break the typical cycle of divorce and strife. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, I pray. Amen.

St. Dymphna, pray for us.

Need some more prayers. As I suspected from a pretty damning sonogram @ 13 wks, my ultrasound confirmed yesterday another boy. I feel petty to complain, my sister is struggling with very expensive IVF treatments with no success - she and many like her would take ANY baby it seems. Nonetheless, the disappointment is very real and heartbreaking for me.

Just dealing with a lot of issues b/c this is our 3rd unplanned pregnancy ( and 3rd boy) in 3.5 yrs and I thought God would at least cut us a break this time. Of my husband and his 2 brothers, we’re the only ones having kids. B/c of the stress and untimeliness of this event, DH and I are neither of us prepared to even consider another child. He doesn’t want a slew of kids and I don’t want to try for another boy. Praying God will restore my confidence in Him down the road and soften DH’s heart towards another if it is His will.

Just feeling like maybe I wouldn’t be a fit mother for a girl - b/c of my strained relationship with my mother, the fact that I have no girlfriends to speak of, nor have I ever had a lasting friendship with another girl and I feel like a wretch of a wife. Feeling very alone with my troubles. In fact, I even took the day off today knowing that the results of my ultrasound would be disappointing and just not wanting to talk about it with my coworkers or the burden of all their consolation and questions of ‘is this it?’ ‘do you think you’ll try again?’ I just need a break.
