Praying hard …
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Lord, remind Cecilia that she isn’t alone in her suffering. You know how hard life can be. Comfort her in her depression. Let her be reassured of Your love for her and how valuable she is to You and those around her. Bring people into her life to encourage her to push forward and to have them tell her what an impact she has made in their lives.

Hail, Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for Cecilia, now and at the hour of her death.

St. Therese, you endured much suffering in your lifetime. Pray for her to the Lord that she will be given the tools needed to endure it.

St. Dymphna, pray for her as well.

Amen.

Thank you for all the prayers. I went to our Adoration Chapel library and checked out some CDs by Kimberly Hahn - a Bible study for Women of Hope, Women of Courage. After confession and mass, I came home and rested, then got up and listened to these CDs while I made rosaries. God spoke very specifically to my heart thru her words and talks and it was a very restorative day.

I think the final drop of glue was when DH called from work to say that he had leaked the baby’s name to a few people. I didn’t mind, I just hadn’t realized that he had agreed to the name I had chosen. This made me feel as though he had finally acknowledged/accepted and is anticipating this child. This helps me along in my feelings as well.

Looking forward to finally getting a receiving outfit for the baby and making his cross-stitch birth announcement and all of that. Just praying now that we can afford a 3D/4D ultrasound the same as we did for our other 2.

Focusing our prayers now on DH’s job. There is not enough work for his unit and they don’t anticipate any relief which could mean layoffs by the end of next month. Even then, he is still facing a 40% paycut b/c of a decision by his employer to change the reimbursement rate.

Please continue to pray for us and thank you all.

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed art though amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus

Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our deaths

Amen

Cecilia,
I went through and read all your post, since it has been a while since I have been on your thread, but I have kept you in my prayers. I want to throw something out there to you and I could be very wrong and I hope I am, but have you ever considered that the cause of your depression is your husband.

As I read your post, it reminded me of my first five years of my marriage. The only exception is that I have only one child. I stopped at one for two reasons, my very bad back and my husband’s excessive anger problem and mental health. I have talked to many priest about this. As it is, my dd may have been scared for life at some of my dh early anger outburst that she remembers and excessive spanking. I remember those days where I could do nothing right. I remember those days where I got blamed for things that were out of my control. I remember those days where I did everything and he would sit back and when we were late, it was my fault and I would get yelled at. Yes, he spoke this way to his mother. I didn’t know until after we were married, unfortunately. He was abused as a child and this is how he knew how to communicate. He was unreasonable and irrational. I saw many addictions in him. If he quit one, he would grab onto another immediately like a security blanket. He still does that. He still has many addictions and sleeps late. He can’t work because of his temper and mental health. Our worse arguments were when he had a job or whenever he had a task to do in the house and it did not go well or according to plan and as we know many times things don’t go as we want them to go all the time. He could not handle that. I was going crazy. I was so depressed and yelling at my little girl. I use to spank her too hard too. It got to the point that I didn’t care if I fed her or not and one doctor looked at me and said that I need professional help. I got help and was put on antidepressant to think clearly. I found out the source of my anger and depression was my husband’s treatment of me. Anger is contagious. How can you be happy and at peace when someone is yelling at you, doesn’t help you, blames you for things that are not your fault and etc.? It gets to you after so many years of it. I don’t know about you, but my dh use to embarrass me in public and yell so that the entire store could hear him.

One day, I told him that if he didn’t go seek professional help, I would leave the house. He went to see a psychiatrist and it took some time to get the right medication dose and combination, but boy what a difference in my dh’s behavior and temperment. I won’t say that he doesn’t get angry anymore, for he still does, but not like he use to, not that rage and not for silly reasons. He doesn’t blow up at me either for things that are out of my control too. Medication helped a lot and anger management. I don’t know if your dh needs this and to me it doesn’t sound like it is all you. I don’t think your depression will ever get better until some changes happen with your dh. That is just my humble opinion from what I have had happen in my marriage. If you feel that you are walking on eggshells with him, please ask him to go seek help for the sake of your marriage and I agree, Retrovaille and other things won’t help until he helps himself. When that happens, than Retrovaille will work.👍

By the way, the source of peace for me is what you mention above and that is going to Adoration. Jesus will be the source of strength and courage for you that you need to get through all this. When I was going through all I was going through, all I have ever heard from family and friends and even counselors is “Get a divorce!” When I went to Holy Hour, I felt the Lord tell me that He could change my husband but it would take time. I went there for courage for somedays, I did want a divorce and out of the marriage for the sake of my dd who I didn’t want to grow up with an anger problem. She is now 10 years old and does have a temper, God help me. She is a lot like her dad. But kids do as they see. Pray for your boys a lot. My dd tries real hard to control he temper though which is great on her own and I am proud of her. She tells me that she doesn’t want to be like her dad in that area.
