Baptista, St Gabriel, the phoenix, wina, OutinChgoBurbs, Deacon Ed B and Bobbie, Mom4truth, cassie89 and the Rock (244Rocket) and all others, thank you and may the Lord continue to bless you for your faithfulness in prayer. You are storing up treasure in heaven.

I am still healing from the skin damage done by the apparent overdose of chemo. I am having to tweeze layers of dead skin off, so that the medication can penetrate to the new skin beneath. Sponge baths get old, you know? My appetite is schizophrenic, with favorite foods tasting good one day and almost making sick the next. Water is OK one day, out the next. Then, it’s alright if its warm instad of cold. Yesterday, nothing seemed good. I can only guess that this is due to my system being under attack from the chemo.

My attitude has been rough, as well. I must go to reconciliation today for my poor reaction to my DW;s love. Yes, I am tired of taking so much medication and having such a restricted diet, but that is the new rule that I live under. Your prayers have helped immensely, as I can actually feel them at times, improving my outlook and my health. God bless you!

DW is reading a book by Fr. Jim Willig, (R.I.P.) a priest who had renal cancer. He wrote a book/journal of his journey through cancer. It is helping DW to understand my bad moods and limitations. I will probably read it when she is done. In any case, I am forever grateful to all of you for accompanying me on this oddyssey - one which was chosen for me by the Father. I am sorry to see that my spirit needs so much purification! However, better to feel flames in this life than in the next.

Christ’s peace remain with all of you.

More prayers your way, & thank you too for your continued prayers & blessings.

Many hugs,
Pier

I will offer your healing as my intention during the consecration at mass today. I pray for your strength.

Jim,

Lifting you up in prayer that our Savior Jesus Christ will sustain you, drive away all the sickness of body, mind and spirit, give you that victory of life and peace which will enable you to serve and rejoice in God both now and for ever and ever! May you be filled with His grace and know His healing power of His love.

God Bless!

Dear po18guy,

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

I’m truley sorry to hear about your dad… I will definatly be praying for him and that all of his treatments will be okay and he will recover well thru all his chemo treatments!

Of all who have faith on this earth, I am the least and the worst. But, know that, without the blessing of cancer, how would I ever convince all of you to go deeper into your faith? What words could I speak to inspire you to converse with God? But, each and every one of you have done just this on my behalf, out of love. You are storing up treasure in Heaven!

No matter what the outcome, I am strengthened by your prayers, with yesterday being an especially strong day for prayer. Twice, I felt the calm and warmth that come only through the prayers of my blessed brothers and sisters in Christ. For myself, I pray only for strength. For all of you, I ask the Lord to bless you constantly.

The Lord’s peace be with you and His blessing remain with you today and forever. Amen! Alleluia!

Although I am fairly new to the Catholic Forum, I have seen and read your posts many times. I was sorry to hear of your illness and have been praying for you and your family. May Christ’s peace be with you at this holiday season and always.
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph

Brothers and sisters, I go in for full chemo tomorrow. It seems the night before I always have difficulty sleeping. Thus, my faith is weak and I need to work on it. I ask the Lord for strength, and I have not been disappointed.

I thank each and every one of your for your selfless devotion to prayer. God bless you and I will update as things develop.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Keep us safe, Lord, while we are awake, and guard us as we sleep, so that awake we can keep watch with Christ and asleep rest in His peace.

Prayer
Let us pray.
Give our bodies rest, Lord, to restore them; and let the seeds sown by our labours today grow and yield an eternal harvest.
Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end.

Perfect timing, the phoenix! I was tossing and turning and got up to take some Benedryl, since I reacted to the Amylactate I used to moisten the skin on my feet. May all brothers and sisters in Christ sleep in His peace. Amen!
