I marvel at your strength, and steadfast faith. :o It is in times like these, that our faith is tested…and you seem to be passing with flying colors. I have been praying for you in my Rosary, po18guy…know that you are thought of often, and that I pray for you to be healed soon. You’re an inspiration–know that somewhere in all of this, by God’s infinite graces, that you have become an inspiration to me, and I’m sure so many on here.

PS–Did you look into that herbal supp that is supposed to help increase one’s immune system, during chemo treatments? (blue green algae…I could resend you the link if you like) 🙂
Gotta get my daughter away from her homework and have her retrieve that. My diet is going to be liquid pretty soon! This is a little-known fact, but I married the best cook in the world. Soup! Yes! (but not too hot…)

I will have a look tonight for sure. Am also going to try to spend an hour with the Lord. It’s been awhile.

Christ’s peace.

Hi guys,

Kind of been busy with kids going back to school among other things. But wanted all to know I do remember all intentions and those who ask for prayers even if you don’t see me posting every day.

Glad to see our friend (po18guy) is inspiring us and witnessing his faith as he does so well. Bless you…

God Bless all and still praying…

Simon
I am certain that my faith looks better from the outside than it feels on the inside. However, the Lord remains my strength.

Christ’s peace.

Jim, I was eating alot of apples when I was going through chemo. A woman from work would bring me a bushel every couple of weeks, so I had 5 - 10 a day with lots of water. I know how chemo makes everything taste like metal, but it didn’t affect the taste of the apples much. Hang in there and know we are praying. Tim

I’m very thankful for this thread because it’s very inspiritional for my spiritual journey. Thanks to Jim for it especially.
Continue praying…

Tim and wina, thank you so much for continued prayers. I am supposed to eat more fruit. Apples don’t sound bad at all, but might be too acid, as the lining of my mouth is thin.

I went in for a scheduled blood test and they sent me straight upstairs for some IV hydration. I had to admit I was a little dizzy. The physician’s assistant told me today that I am receiving three weeks’ worth of chemo every two weeks. So, it makes sense how I have felt on a couple of days during this. I also learned that I am not at the low point just yet. Got a new solution to help my mouth, which basically has no lining in it. So, there’s a lot of asking the Lord for strength.

I got to spend an hour praying before Christ in the Blessed Sacrament last evening. It’s been awhile, and I couldn’t take my eyes off of Him. All I ask for is strength, and I receive it. You all remain in my prayers.

Christ’s peace be with all of you.

You remain in my prayers for your spiritual strength and healing!***

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee, the Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ, to heal those of our souls.”
“My Jesus, pardon and mercy, by the merits of Thy Holy Wounds.”

PO, three times in my life, I’ve been hit with very difficult health issues, two of them taking doctors months, to figure out what was wrong with me, meanwhile I was suffering with no treatment and becomming a memory, of whom I once was. There were times, that were almost humanly impossible for me to bare. But while in the flesh, I felt like I was loosing the battle, and in my mind I thought my weaknesses were offending the Lord, there was a huge spiritual transformation going on inside of me. When each storm would pass, somehow, and surely not by my own merit, I had a bigger understanding of the Lord, and a stronger bond with Him and the church. He really does take our miseries and convert them into miracles. I’m still trying to come out of my latest trial, but this time I look forward to the end result, be it here or on the other side.
I’m sometimes a winer, but He knows I’m like a stubburn mule, as long as He keeps pushing me and guiding me. I’ll get wherever He is trying to take me. There is a certain beauty in humanity, when it is in pain, though we might not be in the right state of mind during suffering. The Lord is there present, like a loving expectant mother, doing everything possible, for the glorious day, the child is DELIVERED. God bless you and keep you strong!

I draw my strength from Christ’s weakness on the cross. Regardless of the Divine nature of Christ, His human nature suffered all things for all people, for all time. That alone gives us all the fortitude we need to carry on. Of course, it is easy to say, and much more challenging to actually do. I have been advising others to remain strong and place their faith and trust in the Lord. Apparently, He heard me saying this and has determined that the voice of experience speaks more loudly than the voice of mere counsel.

And so, I am on a spiritual strengthening journey and I thank the Lord for the blessing that it is.

Thank you. May God bless you and may Christ’s peace and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit always remain with you

If the Lord’s Ear was paying attention to your words…then, what blessings has He in store for you, and those around you!!!

Looking into the lives of saints, by reading books or seeing movies, has helped me a great deal to understand more, that when my humanity reaches it’s limmits, the Greatness of the Lord takes over, to help me get through. Teresa of Avila wrote, that the mind is like a wild horse, specially when we want to pray or meditate, she is going all places and one spends a lot of time trying to tame it. She admitted to having this problem, but she wrote to her sisters, not to worry to much about this, because the soul was always in the correct state, “Attentive to the Lord”, reguardless of the mind. So if this great saint had some issues, it helpes me to feel a little hopeful.

Today I just finished watching the DVD of the life of Saint Anthony of Padua (The Miracle Worker of Padua), Ignatius Press. I got it from Amazon. com. It brings a fire to the spirit! The acting is exellent and so is the relationship to the actual time in history. Every little bit of the church’s treasures, helps us on the journey. But I know, you know these things, it’s just me trying to share with you, what helped me through my trials. I was pretty alone going through my health issues, so I was obligated to hold on to everything that I could. The Lord never left me.

Something must have been passed on to Him, because he’s requiring me to put up or shut up!

I have found that the Lord never fails. Only we do.

Christ’s peace.

Hi po18guy!

The good news about ‘superfoods’ such as this one (blue green algae) is that it’s best if mixed in a fruit smoothie…and since you’re doing mainly liquids, that might work well for you–and will boost your immune system, guaranteed. Cancer is linked to the immune system, so the better your body bounces back from the chemo treatments, the better you’ll be able to heal, and handle future treatments, if needed. I am praying for you–God bless.

po18guy Please keep in prayer . I know that our LORD hears you and loves you . LORD heal your child po18guy and give him a miracle healing today. He continues to be your servant and loves you . Lord he prays for all of us here and he needs you now. thanks Lord , in the name of Jesus, amen . Lord give po18guy the strength and courage to endure the tretment, ut heal him totaly , thanks Lord for this, in the name of Jesus, amen . your brother in Christ, John

po18guy and family, you’re in my prayers. May you be showered with God’s healing, love, grace and strength and wrapped in the warm arms of Jesus where nothing can disturb your peace as you walk this road. Special prayers to St. Peregrine, too.
