Something must have been passed on to Him, because he’s requiring me to put up or shut up!

I have found that the Lord never fails. Only we do.

Christ’s peace.
I hope you have the advantage of having a condition that responds well to therapy.

Hang in! A friend, who went through a strenuous series of chemo (with a GREAT outcome!) said that the single most troublesome point was “the mouth thing.” REALLY bothered him! But, of course, the tradeoff was worth it.

Ave, Maria . . .

I would have preferred to have the diagnosis and treatment at an earlier stage of the illness, but, God is in charge. Since my future is known but to the Lord, He is teaching me to live day by day. This makes planning somewhat difficult, but we make the Lord laugh when we tell him our plans!

I have an aggressive cancer in its early final stage. That is the hope I have. I know that my life has a reason, and that alone leads me to suspect that He has more in store for me. I think of praying for healing, but I can only ask for strength. All of the rest of you are doing my pleading for healing!

Thank you all and may the Lord continue to richly bless you.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with STAGE 4 ovarian cancer two years ago . . . That’s pretty much a mandate to update your will in a hurry. Today, she is disease free and back to full time teaching . . . .

Hope is a VIRTUE!

When I listen to man (i.e. medical authorities), It is depressing. When I listen to God, I am comforted and edified. Easy choice.

Christ’s peace.

Po18guy - here come more prayers divebombing you…

You’ve given me many chuckles on the forums. Humor’s healing so here’s one for you:

A lady awoke one morning and discovered her dog wasn’t moving. She called her vet who asked her to bring the dog in. After a brief examination, the vet pronounced the dog dead.

“Are you sure?” the distraught woman asked. "He was a great family pet. Isn’t there anything you can do?

The vet paused for a moment and said, "There is one more thing I can try, " and he left the room for a moment. He came back carrying a large cage with a cat in it. The vet opened the cage door and the cat walked over to the dog, sniffed it from head to toe and walked back to the cage.

“Well, I’m afraid that confirms it,” the vet announced. “your dog is dead.”

Satisfied the vet had done verything he could, the woman sighed, “Ok. How much do I owe you?”

"That will be $330. the vet replied.

“$330! But you didn’t do anything!” the woman protested.

“I beg your pardon!” replied the vet, “The Cat Scan alone cost $300.!”

Dani Girl, bless you for starting this prayer thread. Some day when you have children of your own, you will understand how touching a child’s prayer for her parent is.

Prayer to St. Jude,

Our Father you know what we need. Help us to set our hearts on God’s kingdom, and these other things will be given you as well." (Luke 12:22-31)

We do not totally understand God’s ways, we confidently place ourselves in God’s hands, as Jesus himself did. St. Jude was with Jesus the night he prayed in the Garden. There, in agony, Jesus taught us how to pray: “Father, if it be possible, take this cup of suffering from me. Yet, not my will but yours be done.” (Matthew 26:39)

When we are insistent and confident in prayer, we also allow our prayer to transform our lives. We open our hearts to God’s spirit, willingly accept the challenges God allows us and generously recommit ourselves to imitate Jesus. St. Jude understood the Lord’s words, “It is not those who say to me ‘Lord, Lord’ who will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the person who does the will of my Father.” :crossrc::gopray::signofcross:

Your dad has certainly helped me turn my heart to God.

God bless you :highprayer:

Sure glad I don’t have stitches! If I should lose my sense of humor, there’s trouble. At the cancer care center, I try to lighten some of the people up with a little humor. Some look like they carry a tremendous burden, or have no hope.

Thanks for the lift!

Continuing in prayer for you …

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Brothers and sisters, I began my third chemo week today. My bloodwork was good, with all of the right numbers up slightly from Tuesday. And those were up slightly from that last test. The week after next, I will begin my fourth and last session of this particular combination. After that, Doctor will have a look at my lymphatic system to see if it is still affected.

I have only to thank the Grace of the Lord, via the powerful intercession of each one of you prayer warriors. Today I learned of another family friend who is praying with her three children on my behalf, so I thank and Praise God that He uses this infirmity for the benefit of others. And, I am not done.

When I needed a car for work, the Holy Spirit lead me to find one that was abandoned in a parking lot. Turns out that it had been stolen in December, 2006! I called the owner and talked about the car. Long story short, she offered to give the car to me, since she no longer had a use for it! I also slipped in that my wife and daughter were in their city that evening attending a confirmation class for my daughter.

She mentioned that she prays to the Saints daily, but is seeking a church, and leaning toward the Orthodox. Her husband is a fallen Away Catholic, she noted, with some concern about his status. I just happen to have a fresh copy of Rediscovering Catholicism by Matthew Kelly (also fighting cancer). Well, guess who I will give that book to, and preach a little, when we meet to transfer the title of the car? I offered to introduce them to our former priest, now in the parish of their town. Praise to You Most Holy Spirit!

The peace of Christ, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and the Love of God the Father be with all of you. Your prayers have sustained me and fortified me as I progress through the Lord’s plan. Amen! Alleluia!

Thanks for update J…Praying for you and thanks for being such a great witness to us!..

John, if you have noticed an upswing in my activity, it is because time might be running short for me! Only the Lord knows, and I will have to give account at some point in the future. God bless you for your continuing prayers.

I am so incredibly proud of you, John.

May the Lord continue to strengthen you in your struggles, and may He aid you in bearing your cross.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide your hand in leading people to the faith entrusted to the Apostles by Christ Jesus. May you be as a light to those seeking Christ, and may the Blessed Virgin keep you in her prayers.

God bless you, friend.

Continuing praying for you.

Thank you very much. I most certainly appreciate any and all prayer. The first day of each three day session is the worst, because I receive 4 toxins. The following two days, I receive only one. So, I am watching my stomach, which is bordering on nausea. I have two anti-emetic presciptions, one of which I just took. I am waiting for it to take effect now. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, and may God bless you.

Jim

I pray for your speedy recovery. Try to get a good meal in whenever you can, and always keep Christ near you.

And oh my! I’m so sorry for calling you John! I could’ve sworn I read it somewhere earlier in here.

Goodness, 21 years-old and my eyesight is already flipping on me. 😃

God bless, Jim.
