This was used as an example, if we say something, it should have some backup. You really provided no back up to what you said.I think we don’t need the thread hijacked off on a tangent.
“Thinly disguised”, accusing Franklin Graham of this who by the way, did not endorse anyone for president in 2016 if I remember correctly. These kinds of words are way out of order…Christian prayers are fine. But I suspect that the call in this march is for a thinly disguised right-wing campaign “prayer” for a Trump victory. I would have to see more evidence of the intentions of this march before I would voice my support for it.
And Graham, not necessarily talking about your posts but possibly other views in the news, is it okay to say something about a white protestant that if it were of another group of people would sound prejudice?
I don’t think history says LBJ did not run because of that. Maybe some people would say that but conventional wisdom seems to point at the Vietnam war.The cities were burning much more in 1967, and that may have been one of the factors that caused LBJ not to seek a second term. But somehow, this President has convinced everyone that he is not to blame. Trump says it’s the fault of the Democratic governors. But one of the worst riots in 1967 was in Michigan, while Republican George Romney was governor. If something is out of whack, why is it never Trump’s fault?
A person is killed in Minnesota being taken into police custody or injured in Wisconsin and I’m going to blame the president? At the least, one of the next possible rungs on the ladder would be Governor and before that, would probably be the mayor such as Jacob Frey in Minneapolis.
