jjordan you are in my prayers 100%

I had been sitting here earlier in the night thinking of all the times I went away from prayer in my life.
I was a club DJ for five years and I had moved away from the Catholic religion. I was drinking, smoking pot, partying all the time. I never prayed, never went to church.
It took years but I just recently have begun to come back to the church and praying again.
I can’t say it has been great but I’m realizing more about my faith and religion than I ever have. My whole outlook is different now. I’m doing my best to get back on track. It’s not an overnight transition. Just pray as much as you have the time for each day, no matter how little or how much-just do it. Keep reminding yourself that you need to be praying, be aware of your actions and where your mind is at.

“lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”

I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, keep coming back to the thread. I’m praying for you.

Therese Martin:
"For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy."

Hello Therese Martin and all…
I had to comment on your signature, Therese Martin, it is so beautiful and reminds me that I must put “Story Of A Soul” onto a priority in my spritual reading calendar yet again.

I would be very grateful for prayers for a few problems that have developed here in Bethany…all things unfold and as The Lord would have them unfold…and I ask your prayers that no matter what I remember that!!! That The Lord’s Will may be done in all things … the great…and the minute!

In my own prayers I am including CAF and all:…our Administrator, administrative stafff, including technical staff etc. etc. as well as all contributors, viewers etc. etc. and including those who perhaps don’t, but should for our benefit as well as their own…

Thank you -
Barb - Bethany

It’s sad there are not more replies.
I’m subscribed to this thread, and just because I don’t reply doesn’t mean I don’t pray. I try to pray for every new intention here, but I also don’t want to clutter up the thread with posts that just say “Prayers going up.” or things like that.

I lost my job yesterday, I worked in the same place for 25 yrs. I hope that you will all pray that I get another job soon. Pray for me not to become discouraged. Pray for my wife she is scared for our future. I know there has to be a blessing in this. Thanks to all.

Please pray for my family - I have injured my shoulder and can’t work or do much housework. I’m the sole support of the family, my husband’s in a wheelchair and the kids are young. Please ask God to heal me, and meanwhile for grace to thank Him in all circumstances. I’m grateful that He’s given me the gift of sharing the sufferings of Christ in a small measure.
Thank you.

this might sound trivial compared to other prayer requests, but right now this is what i have been praying for…

Please pray that my girlfriend and I get back together. May the reason of our separation quickly be proven wrong, may she keep me in her heart and mind always and may her love for me grow stronger even though we are apart. please pray that our separation ends quickly and that we get back together quickly, sooner more than later, so that we may continue our very special relationship and eventually get married.

Thanks!

Therese Martin:
Post your prayer requests in this thread, please. That way fellow forum participants will be able to find all of the various needs in one convenient location. Thanks! 🙂

I am grateful for this thread, and ask that anyone who can, please pray for my father. He is not a religious man, and is not (nor has he ever been,) Catholic (I’m a convert). He had an aneurysm rupture almost 2 years ago. By the grace of God and the skill of a wonderful surgeon, he survived the rupture but had some damage to the spine and now has no use of his arms/hands. He has not improved since the surgery. He is angry and bitter. He says if he ever got the use of his hands back he’d “kill the surgeon, then kill myself.” I don’t think he’s either homicidal or suicidal - he is just so full of anger and rage at what has happened to him, he has no hope and no joy at the fact that he survived. He wishes he’d died, and is angry that the surgeon saved him. I pray for a change of heart (what is the scripture? Create in me a new heart? Changing hearts of stone into new hearts? That’s my prayer for him.) I wish for him a healing of his heart and soul - a physical healing would be almost useless in the state of mind he is in. He’s never had any faith or religion to fall back on, and this disability has just about defeated him. Please pray for him, and for my mom who has to deal with him! Thank you.

Karen

Prayers please, for my wife, who has taken a bad turn in her health. Also, please, for my job search, that something good will come up in the next month.

This seems trivial compared to some of the other requests, but please could you all pray that I achieve my target grades in my GCSE exams.

Please pray for me. I have an interview for a job that appears to be my dream job. Pray I do well in this interview. Also if this job is not for me pray that I see the reasons why.

Done! 😃 Good luck - I’m sure you won’t need it with the Father on your side though!

Jimmytoes you and your wife are in my prayers.
Starcrossed, I don’t think any request fro prayer is too small and you got them!
Barbara Ann, I will pray for you to get the job.

This forum seems to be the place on the unemployed! I too have an interview tomorrow, it’s a job to get by. I would rather be working and I know I read somewhere that it’s better for us not to be idle. It’s very low pay compared to what I was just making but I’m more concerned about being happy.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Jimmytoes I wish your wife the best, my wife has many health issues and it hurts to be powerless over them but I can pray for her.

Thank-you for your prayers The interview has been posponed until June 1 beacuse one of the panel members wanted to take vacation. I am praying that the interview goes well not that I get the job. I have twice accepted bad jobs that appeared to be my dream job and suffered greatly for them. That is why I am seeking new employment.

Sunday was Pentecost and in our parish during the liturgy a basket is passed containing cards each with one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit we each draw one. We then meditate on that gift for the next year. I drew the gift of Joy. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit give the gift of Joy to all the petitioners on this thread :amen:

Please pray for Johnnie, who is dying. He was to be recieved into the Church this evening. He is in great pain and is being urged to go into hospice. Please pray that he will know Christ’s love and peace, and that he will be given the grace of a happy and holy death.

Please pray for me. In 2 weeks I will be leaving my reliable 8-5 job to begin running an online business full-time. I feel like I have most of the risks under control, and I have prayed much and feel like this is the direction God is calling me right now. But I’m still nervous, so any spare prayers would be much appreciated.

I have a personal prayer request…I have a townhome in a city about 45 min away for sale. The mortgage is high & my parents are helping me & my children & paying the mortgage on it. It has been on the mkt for about 6 mos & I had to take it off for 6 mos b/c my neighbor’s child (10 yrs old) ran their Blazer thru the front of it. Financially, it is a drain.
A friend of mine gave me the St Joseph home sale kit & while the kit seems a bit “superstitous” to me, the prayer to St Joseph is lovely & I have prayed it the last 2 mornings…
My agent called this morning & another agent plans to show my house 2 x this week!
I thank you & appreciate any prayers you could offer on behalf of me & my family for the sale of this townhome.
Renee

Dear friends

When you remember please remember to say a little prayer for my intentions or include them in your own intentions.

Please pray for:
  1. A little 5 year old boy who is suffering from leukimia and also for his family and also for all the children suffering and attending the same hospital as this little boy.
  2. A young man I know and who is my new friend and is recovering from drug abuse
  3. An elderly lady who is having an operation
  4. An elderly Priest who is suffering with his memory
  5. The Priest that I love dearly, who is ill
  6. A couple who are recently bereaved of their son
  7. A lady struggling to reconcile her faith and her life.
  8. My neighbour who is elderly and ill
  9. A man who is a new and dear friend who is undergoing surgery today
  10. My new Priest who I think is a little nervous, that he may relax and know we love him.
  11. Our Deacon, that he perseveres and for his vocation to the Priesthood.
  12. Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life.
  13. Myself as I have a chronic lung disease and I have further tests tomorrow.
Thank you for remembering my intentions in prayer

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

Thank you so much for your prayers. My shoulder has almost fully recovered in an amazingly short time, and I’m able to return to work. Blessed be God.
