Please pray for my dad who will be coming to visit us tomorrow (7-29) to talk about the Catholic Church. He is a fundamentalist and is very unhappy that our family has recently converted to Catholicism. Please pray that his heart will soften and that his eyes will be opened to the truth. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will give my husband and me the right words to speak when talking to my dad.

Thank you.

Please pray for Mary Fleck, she is elderly and having many health problems, she is receiving a pace maker today. Thank you!

**I have a cousin who is getting married in October. He’s not Catholic, and he never has been. His bride-to-be was “raised” Catholic. **

He has no intention of converting to the faith, nor does he have any intention of allowing his children to be raised Catholic. Nonetheless, they’ll be having the wedding at her parish, and the priest will be present.

**What many of my family members who are not Catholic do not understand is that this is a Catholic wedding, bound by all the laws of the Church (They keep saying “it will be at St.________, but they aren’t having a Catholic wedding.” What they mean, of course, is that Mass is not being said. What they don’t realize is that just because there is no Mass, this doesn’t make the ceremony any less Catholic, or canonically binding.). **

I am most concerned about the bride and her family…I am told by a source within (my) family that this girl’s family have pretty much told her that they do not care where she goes to church, only that she goes! It would seem that my cousin is going to take her right out of the Church, and her family is fine with that! (From what I seem to be hearing, so is the priest!)

What’s most disheartening to me is that I had prayed that my cousin meeting and marrying a “nice Catholic girl” might lead to a greater understanding and appreciation for the Church, let alone any possible conversion. That is not only not happening, it seems as though it may never happen short of Divine Intervention.

Please pray for my cousin and his wife-to-be. Pray that the Holy Spirit deals mightily with them, and that somehow, some way, my cousin’s eyes will be opened to the Truth. I don’t know how this can happen, but I pray it can. The whole thing is just grieving my heart.

We shall pray. But I might add, God writes straight with crooked lines. So far he has answered your prayer. She is Catholic, just not committed. God can take years to straighten out the rest of it but obviously he is working on it.

I say that because a similar thing happened to my cousin. He was a nominal Catholic but he always asked me to pray for him. His request was that he would meet a good Catholic girl one day. A year later he did meet a girl and marry her but she was not Catholic. She had a previous marriage to boot and they married in a Civil ceremony. It took 10 years but this past January, they got the marriage straightened out and are both committed Catholics.

So…don’t despair. Thank God for answering your prayer so far and continue to pray they will both come home in Holy Catholic Matrimony one day. God can answer positive prayer requests and He does it everyday. He wants the marriage to be a Holy Union even more than you do. He can give the grace needed, although it may take years. Be positive. Thank Him and keep praying.

Please pray for a dear friend of mine who lives in Columbus, Ohio. His name is Mark. He did not tell me what the prayer is for. However, he told me that ‘things are bad for me right now.’…his quote to me in an e-mail.

go with God!

Please keep my youngest sister, Anne in prayer. She has diabetes and has had several toes amputated, as well as having a large portion of her colon removed due to gangrene. She now has a problem with the bones in her one foot and has to have reconstructive
surgery. It’s that or full amputation. It is very costly and she does not have health insurance. My other sister and I are putting together a fundraiser for her. I only ask your prayers for us to remain strong whatever the outcome is. Thank you for keeping her in your intentions.

Peace…

Please pray for me and my unborn daughter Hannah.Ive sinned so horribly gainst God and my child, and its killing me.I have no right to ask you,my brothers and sisters,to even consider praying for me after what Ive done, but I would be eternally greatful.Im still reall sick from it, and the pain its caused is so much worse than that. The onlyreason I didnt take mine after to follow her is because I wasnt sure if suicide was straight to hell instead of purgatory, meaning the scapular wouldnt work and Id never see Hannah again:crying:…Im trying hard to crawl back to Mary and God and faith and everything…I just cant seem to get there alone

Please pray for Deacon P. from our parish in San Antonio, who suffered a stroke this morning after the 10:30 a.m. mass. He has been a rock of faith and source of great encouragement to many in our parish. I would also appreciate your prayers for his family as well.

CG,
Thank you for allowing us to pray for you. God loves you regardless, and He wants you to live and to overcome whatever sin and trouble you find yourself in. Allow God to touch you in His grace through the sacrament of confession. God forgives and all He asks is a contrite heart. You unborn child Hannah has no problem forgiving the hurt you have caused her either. She wants you to live and to overcome and to grow in the love of God.She wants you to be the mother and woman and person God created you to be. No one is without sin but we can all grow beyond our sins to reach heaven. You are correct you would not reach heaven by killing yourself. Worse yet, that would injure God and your unborn daughter Hannah more than the sin you have confessed and obviously repent of. You are precious and worth forgiving.

i wouldnt bother guys- they hate me.
COG,

They do not hate you. God cannot hate anyone, only Satan hates. You are seriously confusing guilt and repentance with doom and gloom. That is not of God nor your child who is innocent and cannot hate either.

It is time for you to get some serious help and counceling dear child. We will continue to pray because we care and we know God cares for you too. Please contact Rachel’s Vineyard

Call our toll-free national hotline 877 HOPE 4 ME (877 467 3463) or check out the Rachel’s Vineyard weekend retreat sites nearest you. If you have questions, please see our confidential e-mail page. We’ll be happy to provide answers.

An update, folks - turns out the stroke was really a heart attack. Deacon P_ is recovering well and should be back home by August 7th. Thanks for your prayers, hope you will continue. Peace and blessings.

What does this mean…That you are not a recognized Catholic?

Please continue to call that number…You are in serious need of help…We will all continue to keep you in our prayers and our hearts…God loves you…That may sound like a cliche, but it is true. He wants you to be free of your guilt and pain…

It means that though I took all the classes, was baptised, and havealways loved god, prayed daily and everything else, because i did not make my first communion the way other kids did (i had communion, ive had it a lot.) it apparentally does not count.i cannot go to confession now because i didnt do all the sacraments…its weird right?
i tried to go thru a father tonight, and he was very weird about everything.i had hoped he wopuld pray with me or anything,or even offer the hope of confession.but he didnt.he asked a hundreed questions, like he was writing a report, but yet i said nothing i needed to,because i didnt feel he was listening really.actually i know he wasnt becausehed get names wrong immediately after i said them and regeneralize what i said to not be what i said.
And i cant decide if im offended by the you need help remark.i have no idea anymore.

Try the number again. As to if you are or are not a Catholic, that is not the big problem right now. Just calm down and call the number. Or, ask one of the Staff at CA to help you privately. I am sure they will be willing to help. You do have to calm down though and try harder. Don’t let small defeats conquer you.

We are praying and we care, but only you can make the call and get the help you want. We would be glad to help but the internet is only just so much good. You need the resources and the one on one contact we cannot give.
