Prayers needed for lost kitty

Hi Everyone,

I’m at the point where I have to start moving into acceptance that I may never see Frankie again, even though there have been miraculous cat returns that I know about. I hold a small flame of hope for Frankie returning, but for my own peace of mind I believe I have to start accepting the strong possibility that he may never return. The part I am really struggling with is my own responsibility in his being gone. I let him go out the kitty window at night, you see. And from what I have been learning, there are more coyotes and other wild animals around here than I thought. I was in some denial about that possibility, but the more I’ve spoken to others in the area the more I am realizing that Frankie probably was taken by one of those animals, and that may be why there is no trace of him to be found.

If you don’t see me posting on this thread for a few days it just means I am trying to move into acceptance and need to detach a little for my peace of mind. Meanwhile, I thank all of you for responding and praying. Many blessings, everyone.

I will pray for your acceptance. Clearly you would have never done anything intentionally to hurt a person or an animal. You loved Frankie so I think that your intentions were good. God knows your heart. I will pray for you Geraldine.

Thank you so much, Fitz. I definitely need your prayers right now. I’m feeling a little more at peace today than I was a day or two ago. I do so love my Frankie and miss him terribly. My intentions were good, and thankfully God knows my heart, but I still feel so badly I let him go out at night. It never was a problem before, but all it takes is once. What a way to learn. I just keep reminding myself that Frankie is with God, wherever he is. God bless you, Fitz.

Yeah, that’s something sad that I’ve been thinking about, too. I feel bad for how bad of a loss you have suffered. I was thinking today, however, that if there is no trace left of Frankie, it may also mean that someone took him in. Perhaps he wandered away from home, got lost, and someone picked him up and thought he was a stray. Maybe you might want to put an ad in the newspaper asking anyone if they or anyone they know of has found a stray “siamese” (important to put this detail) cat recently. It may cost a few dollars, but it’s worth it in my opinion. Actually, I strongly recommend this; since even if the person who took in your cat does not read the ad, it is likely that someone who knows the family who has taken him in, can get back to you on that. Just a hopeful and serious suggestion.

Have you put signs up yet? We had a new kitten (cutest thing I’ve ever seen) and within 2 days of it being outside, it was gone. We put up signs and one of our neighbors called us and said that another neighbor had taken it in, thinking it was a stray since it had no collar. We had the cat back that day, none the worse for wear.

Dearest Nightrider

I will say a prayer to St Francis for the safe return of your cat.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Madaglan, Dr. Colossus, & SpringBreeze,

Thank you all for your posts and prayers. I have placed flyers in all the mailboxes nearby here, just in case someone has taken Frankie in. That was three days ago and no one has contacted me yet. I live in a rural area so flyers are only so helpful. A want-ad might help, though, in the community newspaper, that is a good idea. I’m slowly but surely covering all the ground. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers and suggestions. God bless you all!

Hello, all,

My beloved kitty cat, Frankie, has been missing for seven days now. I am saying a novena to St Anthony on his behalf and am requesting prayers from all of you at CA for Frankie and me. I am broken-hearted, as Frankie is very, very important to me. His brother Rufie is here with me, but other than them the only living family member I have left is my grown son Lars. Frankie has shown me unconditional love for almost five years now and has given me much comfort when I have been distraught, due to being unemployed longterm and a relationship ending. I have looked everywhere for Frankie and haven’t yet found him. Please pray for his safe return. Thank you so much for your kindness and time.

Have you taken out an ad in the local newspaper with a detailed description of the cat and place where she was last seen?

Not just yet, mainly because I live in a rural area next to the highway. She was last seen going out the kitty window! But I think putting an ad in the local community paper is a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion, swampfox! God bless,

Geraldine

I hate to keep harping on the coyote problem, but there was yet another article about them in the paper on Sunday. Coyotes have invaded even the suburbs and twenty of them were trapped in a month’s time in a field near town. They do attack and eat house pets so please keep your precious animals indoors or take them out only on a leash.

You’re not harping, krazykatlady, you are educating. I am one of those who was in total ignorance about coyotes where I live until I started really hearing how many poor little kitties they have snatched in my area. I wish I would have paid more attention to the little I’d heard about them before Frankie disappeared. I didn’t think they’d come to my place because of the proximity of my neighbors’ dogs, but if the coyotes are hungry they’re gonna go wherever they smell any kind of food. and for them food can mean kitties or other small housepets–even small dogs. So yours is an important message, krazykatlady. Thank you for posting this! God bless you, dear!

Dear Nightrider,
My Lenten fast from this place now begins. Remember my kitty, she is really precious and if you want a kitten, you get first pick! It sounds like your sear cat might be gone. But, I have a cat that disappeared for a year, then magically reappeared out of nowhere. You never know eith cats…

Dear WhiteDove,

I will keep you in my prayers during your Lenten fast from CA and I will remember your kitty–thank you so much for offering me first pick if and when she has kittens! I would love to see them when they come. And thank you for telling me about your cat that disappeared for a whole year and then returned–wow! You are so right, we never know about cats–they are their own people! God bless you, dear! See you on here on Sundays, I hope!

Thank you all for all your kind words and prayers. I am finally coming to accept that Frankie is probably not coming home. I miss him terribly but continue to remember that he is with God wherever he is. Thank you all for helping me through this very difficult transition.

Many blessings to everyone,

Geraldine
