Please help me a friend sent me this and I did not know how to answer. is it true??
I don’t understand? To be a priest in the catholic religion we must make a vow,
`That we will never interpret the Scriptures except according to the unanimous consent of the Holy Fathers! "It is not to the Holy Scriptures that we are invited to go to know what the Lord saith: it is to the Holy Fathers!
To me “You annihilate the Word of God! You rebel against the Holy Ghost! You deny the Holy Scriptures to follow the steps of sinful men! You reject the pure waters of eternal life, to drink the waters of death.”
Our priest commit spiritual death, by vowing to believe Rome over the Bible. confused:
Okay, let’s get something straight? Did you go to Mass and take the time to ask your priest if any such vow exists, because I know a bunch of them and not one has ever even intimated that such is the case.
There’s a lot of anti-Catholic propaganda floating around that is pitched to us, sometimes by people who have just been grossly deceived by others.
You find it hard to believe I am catholic? Why ? I am doing what Jesus said to search the scriptures to make sure what I am being taught, (This was told to me by a good friend a Catholic priest )
Catholics read and study the Bible all the time. Far more than even they realize most of the time. I have researched this here on CAF and here are the results of both polls. See for yourself.

Catholics: When did you last read the Bible?
Poll:
Catholics and the Bible:Update.
Jesus is not about religion, He is about having a relationship with us.
That’s like saying that Jesus isn’t about the church we attend, yet He established it. can you show me where that is found in the Bible?
religion does its best to bring us to know Jesus. But it is His word that tell us about the person He is. He told me to read the Bible because religion changes the outside of a person , God changes the inside. Shame on you for questioning my religion, are you a catholic? . Just because I question everything. Have you read the Catechism of the Catholic Church? Yes I have and that right their has me full of questions! All I did was join this site to help me with questions I have so I do not use up all my friend (my priest time.) A big mistake on my part.
Let me explain something. It’s very easy to get tangled up in non-Catholic beliefs because they generally come at us with Bible in hand or quoting scripture in opposition to 2,000 years of actual Christian teaching in the Catholic Church. Did you ask your friend if they consider Catholics as Christians/ The answer you get back may surprise and distress you. For example, look at what happened when I told someone I was Catholic.
My Testimony
You know when I ask other Catholics from my church they get upset with me says I should not question the church. Why? I guess the truth would make one mad. And yes I am a Catholic. **I guess if being a catholic is believing what a religion says above Gods word makes me not a catholic then I guess I need to rethink don’t I? ** As far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with my questioning what anyone says to me. Maybe you need to read and compare mans word to Gods then maybe you would not be so judgemental of me… Thank you… your sister in Christ!!!
I don’t know that anyone’s judged you, but your remarks and the way you phrased them is nearly the same as that used by n-Cs and a-Cs when they post here at CAF.
Moreover, your initial post there, makes one wonder because it fails the common sense test. If you have been a Catholic all along, (and I’m in no inferring that you are not.), does your friend’s question make sense based on your years of experience? I know it doesn’t in mine…
Questioning is fine, but the first questions I generally ask are as to the source of the question itself. I take it that your friend is not a Catholic, am I right?
