Yes it does. And I haven’t read all of these pages on this thread but if Republicans are trying to argue he didn’t and defend Romney on this one, I think they may fear they lost this one. And then when Romney’s Etch a Sketch gave Obama the opening to close on what Romney truly believes about 47% when he’s behind closed doors, it was icing on the 🍰

I came here after the first one to say Romney won that one. Wasn’t ashamed to admit it and didn’t try to sugar coat it. A Romney poster even said I was a good sport.

Tonight though it was our President Barack Obama in the victor’s ring. 👍

Good call. This is exactly what did happen. It was supposed to be a town hall debate, but there was very little town hall to it. They both addressed the peoples’ questions for like 20 seconds and then turned around and got into a brawl with each other, and Obama was usually the instigator.

Generally this sort of thing does NOT play well with women, independents or undecideds. They consider it mean, or not solving the country’s problems.

Romney tends to be very collaborative and bipartisan as a general rule. You saw him last time. I think he felt like he had to stand his ground and he did. But I don’t think he enjoyed it much. I didn’t. That was very nearly Obama at his most obnoxious.

I provided a link to the transcript. Read it in its entirety. He did not call the Benghazi attack an act of terror. He made a statement at the end of his speech about the original 9/11 attack and referred to acts of terror. Added to that, the fact that the administration insisted for two weeks following that speech, that it was from the non-existant riot caused by a video, shows that he didn’t intend to call it an act of terror in his speech on 9/12.

I agree. Romney seemed less comfortable in this format than he was in the first debate. Obama did much better than the first debate. He was more aggressive, as expected, but he the aggression wasn’t over the top, imo.

Lol…if you have a statistically significant support, they will include you in debates. That is how Ross Perot ended up in the debates back in 1992…plus he had nice charts. 🙂

Back when Southwest Airlines was more fun, I remember a flight attendant who did the entire pre-flight spiel in Ross Perot’s voice. 😃

I don’t believe it was the format, but the moderator’s handling of the debate. If I recall correctly she did not present the rules for debate, but presented each guests with two minutes, to speak, answer the questions, and without rebuttal.

Of course - being a partisan for Obama you’d say that. I am more interested in what independents and undecideds think about the debate. If they respond more positively to Romney, then Romney won, and vice versa.

Yeah…I noticed sometimes she allowed rebuttal, other times not. Very confusing.

Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”

LOL I know you’re in the majority of CAF posters on this subforum spinning Republican talking points. But yes he did. He spoke of acts of terror in light of the one we mourned that day. But believe as you wish.
 
Anyone else notice Romney dodge the important question of just what exemptions he plans to cut?

How he decided to use an imaginary number?

He is no better than Obama.

As I said, I posted a link to the transcript, so I read your snip. It was stated after the comment about the original 9/11 attacks. Even if he meant it in the vague sense of “terror,” he followed it up by two weeks of claiming it wasn’t a planned terrorist attack, but rather a spontaneous demonstration.

True Critical Thinking requires evaluating comments in context. You are the one spinning this comment as a claim that is contrary to what the administration consistently declared for two weeks!!!

Heard Colorado voters thought Obama won but Colorado independents thought Obama won by an even wider margin. In an Ohio undecided focus grp, 1 person said Obama won. 1 Romney and the rest tie. Don’t see it affecting Obama’s OH lead in a recent poll.

Is that what I am? A “Romney poster?” Hey - I don’t call you an Obama poster. As for the debate - “winning” is subjective. The first debate it was obvious that Romney won. This time, Obama needed to come out swinging, and he did, but that doesn’t mean he won. He definitely performed better and communicated better - more animated and energetic. But he had to do that just to keep from letting Romney run away with the election! As for Romney - I think he made some good points too, but he didn’t seem to be as articulate as before (the candidates are human - they can have off nights). Also, Romney didn’t hit it out of the park on Bengazi like he should have. So that was disappointing. All in all, I think Obama’s challenge is always going to be much harder in the debates because he has almost no accomplishments. It used to be that foreign policy was Obama’s supposed strong point but that is one of his biggest disasters as the Bengazi events show. His record is so abyssmal that its like Romney has a head start every debate. Who won? That will depend on who the undecideds think who won - because the race is close and whoever gets their vote will have “won” the debate.

We’ll find out on November 7th. It’s my soon-to-be-22-year-old’s birthday, so I’m hoping he gets a new president as a gift. 🙂
