As I said, creating God in their own image.

There are no “images” for God in the Baha’i Faith, Martin.

“God is a Spirit” as you already know, and some choose to put Him as a statue. The Baha’i Faith does not do this. Baha’is worship God as a devotion which manifests itself as an inner condition of Spirit. Spirit and Spirit commune, not flesh and Spirit.

🙂

Any “prophet” after Jesus who says anything different to what Jesus already commanded must be rejected. No matter how clever, they try to be with words and thousands of sayings etc, or say anything different is simply creating a God of their OWN making and also disrespecting and having lack of honoring Jesus’ accomplished work.

MJ
The Bible tells us there will be another, then it warns of us of False Prophets and then how to Test a true Prophet.

The fact that there are tests of False and True answers the posters question re “Prophets after Jesus”. Very affirmative “Yes” there will be 😉 👍

We can sit back and use a couple of quotes to reject them all, or we can look with Justice in our eyes and Judge them as we would like to be judged!

The ball is in all of our Courts 😊

God Bless and Regards Tony

The Prophets after Christ stand by their Word, they do not need our support 😉

You can not Focus on them without also Focusing on Christ, there is no difference! It is just a small mind change to the Oneness of God and the Oneness of His Purpose in Doing as He Willeth! 😊

God Bless and Regards Tony
Charity, tells me I leave it to you. 🙂 As for me, I just came back from Ash Wednesday service. And I tell you and am so happy to be Catholic. Praise God!

I think I can answer your question on the topic of the thread 😃 It has been a great Fast to date Servant, thank you and God Bless your Fast 👍 😉

Tonight I will break the Fast while Studying Rhui Book 8 - Which is on the Covenant of Baha’ullah

Baha’ullah being the most recent Prophet after Christ has left us with an amazing Covenant that will stand the Test of Time.

There will be other Prophets the next after the expiration of a full 1000 years and the Faith of Baha’u’llah will be Protected from having Major splits into different denominations.

What a great day this is to share with all our Catholic Friend of God! May Christ Bless us all with His Love!

Regards Tony

Indeed it is Tony.

May I commend you with putting a photo of yourself as a signature. It is a sign of an open heart and a spirit with nothing to hide. Your spirit shines with love in that photo.

God bless you 🙂

Martin - Pearls are great things 😉 👍 Here is a great passage from Baha’u’llah that has claimed to be a Prophet/Messenger of God after Christ

O My servants! Deprive not yourselves of the unfading and resplendent Light that shineth within the Lamp of Divine glory. Let the flame of the love of God burn brightly within your radiant hearts. Feed it with the oil of Divine guidance, and protect it within the shelter of your constancy. Guard it within the globe of trust and detachment from all else but God, so that the evil whisperings of the ungodly may not extinguish its light. O My servants! My holy, My divinely ordained Revelation may be likened unto an ocean in whose depths are concealed innumerable** pearls** of great price, of surpassing luster. It is the duty of every seeker to bestir himself and strive to attain the shores of this ocean, so that he may, in proportion to the eagerness of his search and the efforts he hath exerted, partake of such benefits as have been pre-ordained in God’s irrevocable and hidden Tablets. If no one be willing to direct his steps towards its shores, if every one should fail to arise and find Him, can such a failure be said to have robbed this ocean of its power or to have lessened, to any degree, its treasures? How vain, how contemptible, are the imaginations which your hearts have devised, and are still devising! O My servants! The one true God is My witness! This most great, this fathomless and surging Ocean is near, astonishingly near, unto you. Behold it is closer to you than your life-vein! Swift as the twinkling of an eye ye can, if ye but wish it, reach and partake of this imperishable favor, this God-given grace, this incorruptible gift, this most potent and unspeakably glorious bounty.

God Bless and Regards Tony

I thought there was a Bahai thread somewhere…pls post it there. 🙂

Catholics also have their own fasting, it is part of Lent in preparation for Easter.

In addition, many Catholic monastics and others have other fasting they do as a way to bring their hearts and minds closer to God.

The Catholic Faith has many beautiful ways to walk with God. It is a living faith filled with the Holy Spirit of God and His Son Jesus Christ.

nowhere in the new testament does Jesus promise to send another prophet to the world.

in fact, He teaches just the opposite of that.

the verses i have heard bahai cite as evidence that Jesus said He would send another prophet are: 1) not addressed to the world or to mankind, they are addressed solely to the twelve apostles; and 2) to be correctly understood, they must be understood within the entire meaning of the Incarnation and the rest of the new testament. the verses cited by the bahai in regards to this are found in john 14 and john 16.

the bahai completely reject the interpretations of those verse provided by the people who wrote the verses.

no one who professes to be a bahai is capable of understanding the entire meaning of the Incarnation and the new testament.

it is not wise or productive to waste alot of time trying to instruct the ignorant who have no interest in learning and understanding.

however, it is wise and productive to ensure that misunderstandings publicized by the ignorant be refuted and the correct understanding be provided.

The prophecy of ‘another comforter/paraclete’ who ‘will tell you things to come’ is clearly a prophecy, by a prophet, about another prophet, who would prophecy.

Peace.

in the verses in John 14 and 16, Jesus promised to send someone to the APOSTLES, not to anyone else, not even to His faithful followers. It is very clear that the you Jesus uses is referring to the Twelve.

so when the SUCCESSORS to the APOSTLES declare that these verses refer to anyone other than the Holy Spirit, then Jesus words would mean that He had intended another human being to provide again Jesus’ teachings that at the time He was on earth the APOSTLES were not prepared to understand.

but the SUCCESSORS to the APOSTLES have never done that.

that means it is safe to say of these verses that their fullness of meaning may have or may not have been fulfilled. but some yokel off the street who is clearly ignorant of the teachings of Jesus Christ is not the right person to listen to when it comes to cherry picking bible verses to support their limited and solely natural understanding of Christ.

and if such a declaration does not derive from the SUCCESSORS to the APOSTLES, said declaration would be wrong because the one issuing the declaration is ignorant of the teachings of Jesus Christ as we have received them from the APOSTLES and their SUCCESSORS.

What God-Incarnate is saying is that the Holy Spirit would be sent.

The Holy Spirit is NOT a prophet, the Holy Spirit is Who is referred to as the Third Person of the Trinity with Jesus being the Second Person of the Trinity Incarnated and God the Father Who is referred to as the First Person of the Trinity and also Dad.

i wonder who made dialogues the go to interpreter of RC sacred scripture?

could dialogues be self-appointed?

that would be typical of many who presume to tell RCs what their sacred scriptures mean.
