Some hymns are predictable like that, especially those designed for simple congregational singing. More sophisticated hymns are artistically interesting precisely because they are unpredictable and are full of little surprises. You’re not going to be able to bungle your way through “Jerusalem” (“And did those feet, in ancient time”), for example.LittleLady is so correct in saying hymns are predictable.
