Mary was not taken up bodily into heaven. Her body sleeps in the dust awaiting the resurrection. (Jesus said I am the resurrection and the life, he that believes in me though he de, shall live and he that lives and believes on me shall never die…and I will raise him up at the last day.
The doctrine of the Assumption of Mary was introduced by Pope Pius XII in 1950.
The Bible shows that Mary was a Jewish virgin (Miriam) chosen to bring the Messiah into the world. Therefore all generations would call her blessed. Mary under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, in the Magnificat declares that her soul magnifies the Lord and her spirit has rejoiced in God her Saviour. Only a sinner needs a Saviour.
The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception was confirmed in 1854 by Pope Pius IX.
Mary was the human vessel to bring God the Saviour into the world. The power of God the Holy Spirit overshadowed her and caused her to conceive in her womb. The mother’s sinful blood does not go directly into the foetus. That holy thing that was born of her was the Son of God. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men - THE MAN CHRIST JESUS.
The Holy Scriptures are the sole authority regarding matters of faith and conduct - The Word of our God abides forever. Christ’s Word abides forever. There is no warrant at all in Scripture for the veneration of Mary.
Ever heard of the 10 Commandments? Thou shalt have no other Gods before me…Thou shaltmake no graven image, or any likeness of me… etc.
Who are you going to believe the false doctrines of men or the infallible revealed Word of God? That Word will judge you on the last day.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the only Saviour, in fact He is called God our Saviour! If we walk in the light as He is in the light we hve fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ His (God the Father’s) Son cleanses us from all sin. Jesu’s death on the cross atones for us, avails for us, is one sacrifice for sins forever. When He had by Himself purged our sins He satdown on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
If you believe this and put faith in Christ’s daeth, burial and resurrection you will be declared righteous! God has promised and sworn and has proven that His sacrifice is complete and acceptable in that He raised Himfrom the dead. Read the scriptures and see for yourself that it is Jesus Christ the Lord that is our Saviour and there is no other.
Praying to saints and to Mary is tantamount to necromancy. The saints in the scriptures are alive on earth and in heaven, the are the redeemed and faithful Christians. To ascribe efficacy to them or Mary as if they can turn the hand of God is to deny the scriptures and the Apostles doctrine and worse… Christ’s work on the cross.
If we could get to heaven by being good and religious and praying, paying, flogging and everything else other than putting faith in God as Saviour then I have one question for you…WHY DID JESUS CHRIST COME ITO THE WORLD IN THE FIRST PLACE!?
Praise God Paul the Apostle gives s the answer: CHRIST JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS OF WHOM I AM CHIEF. AMEN.
