Putin wasn’t a target of the West until?

Around 2000/2002 he arrested a group of Infamous non-Ethnic-Russian Criminal Oligarchs…

“And don’t you know that God is Pooh Bear?”

ETA—here’s the rest of it:

So in America when the sun goes down and I sit on the old broken-down river pier watching the long, long skies over New Jersey and sense all that raw land that rolls in one unbelievable huge bulge over to the West Coast, and all that road going, and all the people dreaming in the immensity of it, and in Iowa I know by now the children must be crying in the land where they let the children cry, and tonight the stars’ll be out, and don’t you know that God is Pooh Bear? the evening star must be drooping and shedding her sparkler dims on the prairie, which is just before the coming of complete night that blesses the earth, darkens all the rivers, cups the peaks and folds the final shore in, and nobody, nobody knows what’s going to happen to anybody besides the forlorn rags of growing old, I think of Dean Moriarty, I even think of Old Dean Moriarty the father we never found, I think of Dean Moriarty.

So far Russia seems to be in better shape than it has been in a few centuries. Putin’s no angel to be sure, but he’s not the incarnation of Satan that some people seem to think he is.

Russia is not the US, nor is it Norway, Ireland, Canada, etc. What works in those countries may not necessarily work in Russia, and Putin seems to be working out well for Russia.

Do you live in the Federation? In the US I think a lot of the dislike for Putin comes from two main sources–Boomers who lived much of their lives in the Cold War and have a lingering disdain for anything Russian, and from the media who need some kind of boogeyman to whip up hysteria so they can get viewer-generated advertising revenue.

If it weren’t for that I doubt most Americans would care about Putin and Russia one way or the other.

They’ve been on Crazy Mode ever since Putin
arrested those hi-level infamous criminal non-ethnic-Russian Oligarchs

They went berzerkoid when he arrested members of the P-ssy Rioters for desecrating a Cathedral

They went bonkers when Russia tossed HomoSexual Promotioning - into the proverbial Toilet Bowl.

And now b/c He’s doing what God has done - banning Homosexual “unions”

AntiChristians not in favor with Christ, Jesus. .

HooooooRaaaaaaaaah!

I know. Suppose these people committed blasphemy in a Catholic Cathedral or disrupted a Catholic service? Should they be allowed to do so, or should they be arrested? If they don’t like Putin, they can demonstrate outside the church. And Putin was very lenient toward them as he lifted part of their sentence.
It was a real outrage that the western media gave them so much publicity and support.

Yea but I think that in that society the sinners who have money and power will not be revealed as sinners ( even among clergy)
I think in Western democratic countries the bitter justice truth is equal for all, but in authoritarian States there are privileged castes and personalities who have justice in their pockets.
The same can be said about many Eastern Muslim countries, where sinners of poor families are punished by Muslim justice and elites live as untouchable by justice caste.

To have nostalgy for Soviet dominion, to submit under control the neighbours nations, and force them by intrigues, by wars to live under Kremlin political, economic, uni-brothers-fables control is in my opinion incarnation of evil.
In Moscovia-Empire there are ethnic groups(Siberia, Caucasus) whose morals are higher than Moscovites morals (Caucasus) and many noble represents of those ethnic groups were fighting for liberation, but you do not hear about it in their media because these people were/are ceverely persecuted in Moscovia Empire.
May be the morals of ethnic Baltic, Germans, Ukrainians there are also higher in comparance.
(they brought to Russian federation Protestantism of high moral standards, Ukrainians brought there Orthodoxy in large degree)
So, when you insist on spiritual positiveness of “Russia” you very much generalize.

That has naught to do with AND distracts
from the focus on the Pro-Homosexual marriage crewe and their whinings

Ultimately it was his objective. This is because of the fundamental principle, the last words of the Communist Manifesto, “workers of the world unite”

By the way, we think of countries he invaded like Hungary and Poland as “Eastern Europe “ but they are in fact western, Catholic countries.

Yeah, don’t distract us with facts and real experience! Why would we form our opinions based on facts and experience?

Homosexuality does hurt other people though. There is a reason why the STD rate in the alphabet community is so large.

https://www.cdc.gov/std/stats17/msm.htm

Liberty is no excuse to harm oneself or others. Just like how the state makes drug use illegal. Not just for the seller (profiting on someone self harming) but for the user as well (whom is literally harming themselves). The state has the obligation to teach and prevent it’s citizens from conducting dangerous behavior. Not only for the health of the individual, but for the health of the family unit. Without families, there can be no future for the nation.

The solution to the STD thing isn’t a ban in the same way as the solution for STDs among heterosexuals is a ban on extramarital sex. Rather, the solution consists of education and testing, along with a requirement to tell a partner whatever STDs one might have before engaging in sexual activity.

I agree Liberty is no excuse to harm others, however it cannot be said in the same breath that it isn’t an excuse to harm oneself, because, well, it is, or rather, it can be.
Just like how the state makes drug use illegal.
Drug use is another perfect example of an unjust restriction. People have the right to harm themselves, however tasteless it may be. I find arguments for the continued illegal status of most drugs to be completely uncompelling. (I am, after all, a libertarian.)
