I simply don’t buy this theory of change of orientation. Only behavior can be changed. One can be forced to eat vanilla ice cream but if he prefers chocolate he will always prefer chocolate. And again, if one is not acting on it what is so imperfect about a homosexual orientation?

Imperfect wouldn’t be a word I would use but I think the term disordered does adequately describe it. I’m a behavior clinician and I know that all behavior is amenable to change. What makes it difficult is how long and how powerfully the behavior has been reinforced. In the case of homosexuality, it’s obviously much more difficult to reverse if an adult has been “reinforced” multiple times through sexual contact as opposed to a preteen or teen who has not had actual sexual contact (including through masturbation - sorry for being so indelicate about it). But I do think that a pre-disposition for some and other psych-sexual factors also play a part so in that respect it’s more complex. However, for gay activists to claim that it’s all genetic is I think just simply an oversimplification that isn’t really useful. If you’re not acting on it I’d say that you’re probably in a good place with the Lord.
