KMC . . .
The preference to Donald Trump, when the only other candidate with a statistical chance of winning was Hillary Clinton, doesn’t imply “hard right” to me. Rather they were picking the candidate who did not endorse at least 3 intrinsic evils.
Great insight.

As for me?

I think Arroyo is tremendous.

I have always enjoyed his show back when I did TV and now once in awhile on the computer.

I have great respect for him.

really far right? That term is thrown around just to attack people. Of course Arroyo has opinions and he has the right to them.

He never called Trump a wonderful Christian. Now yes he supports Trump, but so does everyone who supports prolife and religious freedom. And guess what God can us imperfect people (not saying if He is with Trump). Remember not to straw man people’s views

I stopped watching them during the last election when they gave preference to Donald Trump. I would suggest watching the EWTN nightly news to understand their political position.

National Catholic Reporter – 16 Jul 19

The rise of EWTN: from piety to partisanship

On Memorial Day, viewers who tuned into EWTN’s News Nightly for “news from a Catholic perspective” were treated to two previously recorded one-on-one interviews by anchor Lauren Ashburn. In the first…
Haven’t you said the National Catholic Reporter is not a fair & balanced source of Catholic news?

Overall, they certainly tend to slant left. Although I haven’t found a balanced source for Catholic News… do you have one to recommend?

I tend to try to read from various slanted sources (both ways) and make up my own mind… the truth typically sits in the middle. Like St John Henry Newman preach Via Media - the middle way

Not really, can’t be very good at being prolife and vote democrat when their party platform has a pro abortion position.

I’m pro-life and respect religious freedom but am no Trump supporter.

But to the OP Arroyo has been hard right for years now. He even interviewed Father Sirico of the Action Institute.

Hard right, no right of center yes. Not everyone is far/hard right. This phase is overused against people who disagree with eachother.

I’m sure there are some good folks there, but they have no chance of winning, either in the last election or the next one.
Well, they’ll have less chance of winning when they can’t get coverage.

Those certainly not the words used to describe any msn such as CNN, ABC, WaPo, NYT and so on…

I’m saying that left leaning Catholics have big problems with tradition and orthodoxy. But your mileage may vary.

Feanor2 on Vatican News . . . .
And trustworthy and most of all WITHOUT DRAMA!
Do you trust Monsignor Dario Vigano, former head of the Vatican’s communications department to give you unvarnished truth in Vatican News?

How about Paolo Ruffini, the prefect of the dicastery for Communications?

At the Amazonian Synod he recently stated with regards to the pachamama idols . . . .
“there was no ritual, no prostration took place"
Do you believe that?

Do you think these communications people have came “without drama”?

I’m reminded of the comedy sketch in which the commander is looking for volunteers.
Everyone takes one step back except that one unaware of the plan. And we have our volunteer.

Hard right…EWTN? Not likely. But when the rest of the world travels so far to the left, people maintaining their place look hard right in comparison.

Nisarani . . .
But don’t you think that, so long as a person is using multiple sources . . .
But my response was not intended to recommend or condemn single-source or multi-source Vatican news sources.

My response went well beyond the Amazonian Synod.

My response had to do with drama and at least some sources with the Vatican news apparatus, that is obviously untrustworthy.
