Please, please do not despair. Please know that the church needs each and every one of us who Love Christ and the Church he founded. He needs us in our parishes, living a life that demonstrates what love of Christ really looks like.

We need to give witness to the fact that one who is in Love with Christ can radiate peace and joy, while being faithful to all that the Church teaches, including the truths which require we differentiate between right and wrong, Grace and Sin. We are called to live lives of Holiness and this begins at home. From home, we are to extend it to our Parish family. This means praying for our priests. If we are blessed enough to have nuns (a mixed blessing I can see), we must pray for them.
Sometimes I wonder if I had the strength of faith that some of the Saints had and was faced with the situation described here by several posters, would I be able to apply the power of prayer effectively and call upon the Holy Spirit to convict the heretics in their hearts and disrupt the activities and plans of those who have infiltrated the church?
It’s a delightful thought, isn’t it? The Holy Spirit confounding those who would undermine the Church. That’s where the power is. With enough directed insistent prayer, and the help of Our Lady and the Apostles and all the mighty hosts of heaven we could see the pagans scatter before the light. It’s a great vision, a comforting vision.

But I don’t know if I would have that kind of strength to stay and fight it out on the spiritual level. Probably I would make tracks to another parish. I thank God we haven’t that kind of problem in our parish, and I sympathize with those of you who do.

Still I have to believe that God hears those who cry out to Him in despair, even if they remain in the parish and keep silent because they are out-numbered. There will be a reckoning and God willing, it will be soon. I know that I will be praying for help to be sent your way as soon as possible.

That’s a joke right? 😃 I think the only people that would run away from the light are those that are extremely sensitive to the light such that it will make them very sick or dead - and, sorry, but that’s not exclusive to any one religion.

You can pray all you want, but I won’t be running anytime soon. 🙂

Good for you.

I am usually not one to recommend filing grievances because it usually comes to naught. But this seems to be an extraordinary case. Were there others in your group who were offended? Perhaps you should bring this complaint to the Bishop together.

Game it out before you do it. Think: if you were the RCIA director, and someone from above asked you about your curriculum, how would you spin this to make it look acceptable? How would you make it look like the poor, ignorant, uninformed student had twisted everything you said . . . ? Cover those arguments before you jump into the cauldron.
Back with an update: another woman from the RCIA group got in touch with me; she was also offended by the content of this session. We are going together to the priest next week…
I will keep you posted, thanks for ALL of your (name removed by moderator)ut! 👍

No handouts - but I did write everything down. Here is that celtic trinity - creepy or what?:bigyikes: . Definitely pagan.

Whoever made the image is a fool.
  1. It’s not the Celtic Trinity. The Celtic Trinity is this:
    http://www.members.tripod.com/mise_eire/trinity5.jpg
  2. Mother, maiden, crone are an alternate representation of the Furies/the Kindly Ones/the Erinnyes (Tisiphone, Megaera, and Alecto). They are also analogues of the anicent Greek Fates (Lachesis, Clotho and Atropos). The are pagan and pre-christian figures of revenge, retribution and judgement.
  3. Around the border of the image is the snake that devours himself - the Ouroboros. The Ouroboros is an alchemical sigil found in both ancient Greece and Egypt. It was also used by gnostic and hermetic sects and may still be in use as a masonic symbol. Some Christians have adopted the image, however it is a pagan symbol. (For the Christian it can be seen to represent the effects of sin - it consumes itself)
