To quote one of Tolkien’s walking songs “The Road goes ever on and on/* Down from the door where it began”–and it never ends!*I’m within 30 pages of finishing Return of the King, and with it, the LOTR trilogy. It’s been slow going – I read one book a year. According to Goodreads, I finished Fellowship in Sept 2014, Two Towers in Sept 2015, and will finish Return tonight. I figured if the Ring was destroyed on March 25, it would be appropriate to finish it off. I didn’t expect to zoom through it as quickly as I did, though. It’s been a few days instead of a couple of weeks.
I thought it would be over when the Ring was destroyed, but evidently there’s more story to be had!
That’s an interesting book to say the least.Goethe’s Faust
Oh, Anne is a ball! What did you make of Brideshead? Some of the characters are pains to endure, but Julia’s decision at the end…what a moment.Just finished Brideshead Revisited & started on Anne of Green Gables. Somehow I never read it as a child
