Then they contradict themselves in a way:
  • The legitimacy of Catholic marriage is directly linked to “being married” before God.
  • If they want legitimacy, that should mean they believe in God.
  • But if they want the Church to change its view on marriage, they automatically disregard the fact that it was GOD who made our rules.
In the end, they make no sense.
Marriage is a religious sacrament, there’s no “bending” it, as it is not politic.

So why do you not campaign to stop people divorcing and re-marrying?

That is exactly what the Church and faith in God does.
Everywhere I look in churches, I see countless united couples, many with 25, 30, 35+ marriage anniversaries.
They have something that unbelievers don’t have: Faith in a third party, who happens to be the one who created everything and everyone they know. They are aware that he can help them overcome anything life throws their way, even the worst problems. So when a dispute occurs, they trust in God, and rapidly move on where others would’ve gutted each-other without reason, without patience, and without any sorts of faith whatsoever.

Some would say “hah, but I know some unbelieving couples who were united their entire lives”.
Sure, it is easy to point 2 or 3 examples, and of course many unbelievers are good, patient people…
But these countless couples I’m referring to all have one thing in common, the Church, and they themselves profess that it is because of God that they’re still united. Witnesses validate the reality of the solution.

To answer to your question:
Yes, I do campaign, but to really understand the “how”, one must first understand the “why”,
and not diss the solution to their relationship problems just because it involves something they don’t want to know anything about. Nobody can force them, it’s just natural.

I hope this helps,
God bless mate.

This is the classic online forum discussion: People trying to come up with one answer to two different problems, which never works. The two problems are: 1) Legalizing same-sex marriage, which is a done deal, and 2) Having it recognized by the Church, which should never happen.

Same-sex marriage is here to stay in the “civil” world. Learn to live with it, because you don’t have a choice. We can still believe what we believe in the Catholic world, at least so far. If the government encroaches on that, the fight is on. Unfortunately, I don’t think our Church leadership is up for the fight.

They have all but rolled over on abortion. This is tame by comparison. If we believe abortion is murder, why haven’t Catholic politicians who support it been excommunicated? To me, same-sex marriage is but a distraction.

I think some information is missing here. While respecting LGBTQI persons, we have a duty to not show any support for same-sex marriage. Like abortion, a grave mistake by the US Supreme Court, the Church is still calling for the overturn of Roe v. Wade. The Church takes same-sex marriage seriously as a problem.

Hi!

I don’t know where you’ve been in the past decade or so… but have you not seen even “Christians” promoting the integration of homosexuals into their church as proof that they are the “true” church of God, who 'loves everyone the way that they are?

Did you not hear about the Catholic Church closing her adoption agencies because homosexuals demanded that they be allowed to adopt children from them?

Have you not followed the “homosexual” Christians/Catholics around the US voicing 'God’s Mercy, Love, and Justice" that they be not only accepted as they are but recognized as legitimate Christians?

Here’s the reality about the homosexual agenda:
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), which describes itself as the nation’s largest civil rights organization on behalf of gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people, expressed outrage at Nienstedt’s actions.
“Jesus didn’t play politics with communion,” Harry Knox, the HRC’s religion and faith program director, said Tuesday in a statement. “He offered his body and blood for everyone.” (http://www.courageouspriest.com/homosexual-activist-disrupt-mass-refused-communion)
…and don’t forget the many Catholic/Christian businesses that have been assaulted by the homosexual mandates, including the Catholic school system, where the unfair ‘civil rights union’ has bludgeon anyone who does not capitulate to the homosexual demands.

I fully concur!

I do not have access to the net so I’m running with my post… you are correct, and I will try to make amends.

Hey jcrichton!

I was wondering. Is the requirement for recieving the blessed Euchuarist in a state of grace and not in a state of Mortal sin, found in the Bible? Is it divine law or ecclesiastical law?

I’ve never experienced homosexuality; yet, I grant you that I do not hold all the cards (I’m going from what has been stated about aids (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) and what I have experienced (gained knowledge from people who have practiced both homosexuality and heterosexuality with the sodomy clause) and their life changes (illnesses and dysfunctions).

…since you do seem to know more on this, how, then, does it work?

Yet, it is not new for man to want to change God.

Abel offered to God Worship pleasing to God; Cain did not. Subsequently, Cain killed Able–it could well be said that Cain thought to offer to God his sacrifice, his way, so God would have to accept his Worship.

Have you not heard the argument that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed not because of the homosexual habits of their inhabitants but because they were poor hosts?

What of the argument that what God opposes is not homosexuality but infidelity–‘as long as the “partners” are “loving” and “faithful” and “loyal to each other,” God loves them just the way the are!’

While you and I can see the fallacy in such “Christian” worship, they do not; they want to believe that they can change the Church’s acceptance of homosexuality… never mind that Yahweh God holds it as an abomination (Romans 1).

This argument is so old…

Do you know that people claim to be Christian but reject Christ’s Teaching:
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” (St. Matthew 19)

Do you see Jesus Teaching about the indissolubility of the Sacrament of Marriage and that it is between one man and one woman?

Dr. Cretella on Transgenderism: A Mental Illness Is Not a Civil Right

John Ritchie: You’ve stated that the transgender ideology is responsible for large-scale child abuse. Could you please explain why you call it child abuse?

Dr. Cretella: Essentially, transgender ideology holds that people can be born into the wrong body: It’s simply not true. We can demonstrate this by looking at twin studies. No one is born in the wrong body. So to take that lie and essentially indoctrinate all of our children from preschool forward with that lie, we are destroying their ability for reality testing.

This is cognitive and psychological abuse. I want to say just a little more about that. The reason it destroys reality testing is because most children at age three (pre-school age) can correctly identify themselves by saying “I am a boy” or “I am a girl” and most children will not understand that a boy grows into a man and stays a man and that a girl grows into a woman and stays a woman. So when many seven-year-olds see a man get into a dress and put on makeup, they may believe that he just became a woman. The other side is not being honest and not acknowledging that. https://www.tfpstudentaction.org/blog/dr-michelle-cretella-on-transgender-ideology

The problem is that the Church is working on the “honor” merit: ‘you know you have excommunicated yourself, so abstain from Receiving the Holy Eucharist.’

That worked for the pre-kindergarteners… once upon a millennia…

The constitution makes no reference to marriage. It is a state’s rights issue. They overstepped there bounds, big time.

Check this out:
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread. 24 And giving thanks, broke, and said: Take ye, and eat: this is my body, which shall be delivered for you: this do for the commemoration of me. 25 In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me. 26 For as often as you shall eat this bread, and drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come. 27 Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 11)
St. Paul states that it was Ordained by Christ Himself (the Lord’s Supper) and that we cannot Receive the Body and Blood of the Lord unworthily!

So it is quite Biblical!
