Sure, but when your policies are based on pandering for votes rather than what’s best for society, that’s pretty sad. Why do you defend it?
Tut, tut, tut! “Rather than what’s best for society” from YOUR point of view. 🤷

However, the latter pandering does wonders to get people to vote for you, and that’s what’s more important, eh Rich?
Without votes, how would any faction get their programs functioning, be they Dems or GOP?

You seem confused. I challenged you on pandering for votes, and you defended it. Now, you are going to try to claim that Democrats aren’t pandering? They are doing what’s best for society? If so, why did you defend pandering for votes only moments ago?

You are the one who insists on calling it pandering. I do believe that the Democrats are doing what is best for society - my opinion, not yours to be sure.

Because killing millions of babies every year makes a society great…

Yet, when I charged Democrats with pandering for votes because votes are more important than principles, your response was that everyone needs votes. You didn’t condemn the pandering at all.

That would lead me to believe either A) you are okay with pandering or B) you can’t follow an argument well. I’m not sure which conclusion is more charitable, so please enlighten me.

Again, you are presuming that Democrats have no principles. You (and many others) may believe that, but I find no reason to respond to A) and B), which are personal.

As Burger King advertises, “Have it your way!”

I guess it was B, since I never said that Democrats have no principles. 🤷

I said that they believe pandering for votes is more important…which you defended.

The GOP candidates pander as well, especially to Catholic voters. Elect me and I’ll put pro-life Justices on the SC; vote for me and I’ll stop all government pro-abortion programs, etc. :hmmm:

Someone who tells another post to take a &*!$ on a police car wants to be enlightened? That is precious.

But, do Hispanics agree with you? What sounds grand to you may mean little to them when they get into the voting booth. I say that they’ll stay with the Democrats (as they should!), but the next national election may prove me wrong if the majority of the Hispanic vote goes to the GOP.
I am not a pollster, so I could get this wrong, but if the right candidate for the party is nominated you will get a larger percentage of Hispanics voting GOP or at least staying at home and not voting for Obama, which would benefit the Republican nominee too. The approval rating among Hispanics has declined quite dramatically for Obama since 2010.

Lets say for the purpose of conversation all pro life Republicans are pandering to Catholics, I could think of a lot worse things to pander for votes than to protect the unborn from being slaughtered in abortion mills.

Republicans don’t have to pander to anybody, most Republicans are Pro life, thus their voting record reflects that. You had people Mike Pence try to pass the Title X no funding for abortion act, which was stopped by a Democrat controlled senate, do you really think he wanted to pander to Catholic voters this year, a non election year, just to get their vote, for what, his next election?

The Republicans came up with a health care plan that was destroyed by a majority Democrat senate, that would of helped low and income Americans to get health insurance, dependents under 25 would of stayed on their parent’s health insurance etc. it was a good plan, far better than the unpopular ObamaCare.
Was that the same plan they enacted when they had the WH and the Congress before 2007? Republicans never seemed to care about doing a thing about healthcare before when they had power.

Again, like Rich, you equate care and doing something with big spending and bloated, bureaucratic programs at the federal level. It’s the Democrat way. It isn’t the way our country was founded. It is contrary to Church teaching regarding the role of government. When Republicans do something, it is based on the principles of freedom and liberty, rather than the Welfare State.

What exactly have they done about jobs since they took the house. Yelling jobs Jobs! Jobs! is not really that great of a plan. What was the grand plan for affordable health care? Education? Private vouchers have been discussed for as long as my kids went to Catholics schools…grade school, high school, and college…where’s that voucher I’ve been promised?
I think the plan is baffle the masses with the substance you keep bringing up in the bovine variety

They haven’t done anything because the government’s role im creating jobs. At best, they can “get out of the way” by lowering taxes.

Exactly. People like Pirate Talker are looking for a nanny to take care of them.

I’d like a nanny to take care of me, too, if I can find one who wears short skirts, seamed stockings, and high heels. 😃 😃
