I had hoped that I wouldn’t have to vote for Obama, but if Gingrich is the GOP candidate, I have no choice but to vote for the President and contribute to his campaign. Gingrich is wholly unpalatable to me for all the usual reasons.
Contribute as in financial help?

.

No one said that they were.
But, and I can’t comment on everyone on that ‘40 leaders’ list, because I don’t know everyone of them by name, but take one, Rev Thomas Reece, he was told to resign from America by the Congregation of the Faith. He has dissenting views from the Catholic Church on women’s ordination, priestly celibacy, he is an Obama supporter. He is not an example of a noted orthodox Catholic leader.

That sort of logic represents more than half the Catholic voters in the last Presidential election … The abortion record apparently held little or no value in their thinking.

I honestly dont get it.
More than half of you dont believe what you say you believe.

Its worse really as the 57% that voted for him may not have “contributed” to his campaign. I don’t know if its worse to financially support his re-election campaign or just to vote for him.

Anyone who wants to watch a good video on Romney should go to YouTube and do a search for Ron Paul vs. Goldmam Sachs. It has nothing to do with Dr. Paul, the first half is about Obama and the second half is about Obama Jr., i mean Mitt.

There is a story about Alexander the Great having a young soldier brought before him for desertion… punishable by immediate execution. After a long pause, Alexander asked the youth, “Soldier, what is your name”?
“Alexander”, the young man replied.
His commander paused again and then said… “Alexander, either change your actions… or change your name.”

Rick Santorum would encourage one of his daughters to see a pregnancy created through rape as “a gift of human life” and urge her to not consider an abortion, the socially ultra-conservative Republican presidential candidate has explained.

In an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan show, the former Pennsylvania senator was asked at length about his hardline views on abortion, which he would seek to ban via a constitutional amendment.

I think using the word “gift” was a bad idea.

Even if one does not believe in God, one can think that out of the evil of abortion, the arrival of innocent life can be a redeeming experience.

Every life is God’s gift, even when the sexual act itself might be a depraved act. Projecting the evil of the rapist onto the innocent child is just evidence of the evil of our society. Proposing abortion as a “remedy” to rape betrays just how warped human thinking can become. We don’t even execute rapists for the crime of rape, but we put innocents to death.

Rick Santorum is being charitable and walking on tip-toes around the elephant in the room. The argument of Piers Morgan and people like him posit for a rape exception to prohibiting abortions reflects an ethical standard that, upon scrutiny, can only be described as criminally insane.

Rick Santorum may not be politically correct but he represents the Christian perspective without shame.
If more than half of all Catholic voters side with Obama … why would anyone expect the rest of the country to accept Santorum’s position?

I quite agree, but the use of the word gift in relation to rape in any circumstance is unfortunate.

Unfortunate for whom?

There are multiple examples of people conceived as a result of rape that became strong, healthy, successful people that contributed in wonderful ways to the world.

I can’t disagree. He should have found other words to explain how precious life is to the audience.

Yes, as opposed to Obama who calls them “mistakes.”

I’m not going to disagree with you but how do you know he won’t compromise his position in the future?
If abortion were the only issued I’d give him the benefit of the doubt. But to believe a word he says would be extremely naive.

So, now Romney voters are ignorant, extremely naive sheeple. It’s nice to see you are broadening your vocabulary. Your open disgust for others is really refreshing.

Good to hear you find me refreshing, I do what I can.
