Thank you for sharing that with us Cor Cordis, I think it’s exactly right, we are in the dangerous culture of what ever we desire is okay to act on, we all ‘suffer’ from immoral and disordered desires, it’s not just something unique to homosexuals, however homosexuals require more strength to control them, what annoys me about this debate for homosexual marriage is because, by all means I understand when they say “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” however theres a big difference between attacking someone for something wrong they did, and when they claim that what they did was ‘right’.But there is another form of poverty! It is the spiritual poverty of our time, which afflicts the so-called richer countries particularly seriously. It is what my much-loved predecessor, Benedict XVI, called the “tyranny of relativism”, which makes everyone his own criterion and endangers the coexistence of peoples. And that brings me to a second reason for my name. Francis of Assisi tells us we should work to build peace. But there is no true peace without truth! There cannot be true peace if everyone is his own criterion, if everyone can always claim exclusively his own rights, without at the same time caring for the good of others, of everyone, on the basis of the nature that unites every human being on this earth."
Apparently you haven’t been reading too many of the comments here. And apparently you haven’t met too many liberal “Catholics”. They commonly refer to themselves as Democrats.:yup:I didn’t know any doubted it.
I haven’t met the perfect partisans either. Did Jesus create a political party? That would seem to contradict His monarchy.Apparently you haven’t been reading too many of the comments here. And in America, each citizen has the “right” to call themselves, Democrats, Republicans, Libetarians, Green Party or any other umbrella of the political spectrum they choose. They also have the right of freedom of speech, having an opinion, the right to vote and the right not to tell who they voted for or have that privacy infringed. I have made a point of never revealing who I voted for, none of anyone’s business, actually.Apparently you haven’t been reading too many of the comments here. Well, according to Liberal “catholics” Jesus left the Democrat Party. And its pope is Barack Obama (formerly cardinal Barry Dunham).I haven’t met the perfect partisans either. Did Jesus create a political party? That would seem to contradict His monarchy.
Yeah. So?And in America, each citizen has the “right” to call themselves, Democrats, Republicans, Libetarians, Green Party or any other umbrella of the political spectrum they choose. A country run by religion after all is doing great for the folks in the Middle East.
I guess the US is a bit jealous, maybe.![]()
Source?Well, according to Liberal “catholics” Jesus left the Democrat Party. And its pope is Barack Obama (formerly cardinal Barry Dunham).
What’s wrong Prody - touch a nerve did I?![]()
You seem to paint with a broad brush. And your comments to Prodigal border on the uncharitable.Yeah. So?
What does any of that have to to with Pope Francis’ statement or my statements?:ehh:
And those enlightened secular humanists did a great job in Cambodia, the Soviet Union, Cuba, China, and North Korea. And in America, each citizen has the “right” to call themselves, Democrats, Republicans, Libetarians, Green Party or any other umbrella of the political spectrum they choose. Camel or Lucky Strike? And all the school children stood up at their desks, placed a hand over their hearts, and said, “I pledge allegiance, to the fags, of the United States of America…”
Source what? How do I “source” peoples implicit actions - other than citing the so-called “catholic” vote for Obama? Is that what you want me to cite?Source?
No nerves touched here. I consider myself apolitical.
Actually no. The Catholics dropped the ball on that one. The Baptists and other evangelicals have moved heavily into those regions and seem to be gaining some ground. And those enlightened secular humanists did a great job in Cambodia, the Soviet Union, Cuba, China, and North Korea.
My “uncharitable” comments are a matter of your opinion. Stop judging me.You seem to paint with a broad brush. And your comments to Prodigal border on the uncharitable.
My point, a liberal Catholic or a Catholic who is a Democrat has the right to be one as does any American in our society.
