This is meant as a joke, right?
Get the retch bowl ready.

Got it?

I am absolutely serious.

If the state would enforce some sort of morality, we might be spared the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah.

I’m also pro capital punishment and scarlet letters.

As I thought.😉

It’s very telling that “LatinMassLover” prefaced his remarks by warning us to “get the retch bowl ready”. Now just what is he inadvertently admitting here? Hmmm!! Of course, when we’re talking about Islamic standards and enforcement, we are talking about “honor killings” and disfigurement of women. No thanks - that’s not legitmate enforcement; that’s barbarism.

I don’t know who said that a gender cannot wear clothing appropriate to another gender. The trouble with that is that those standards are largely determined by secular society. For instance, let’s look at the pants matter. It has only been in the last several hundred years that anyone wore trousers. Now do we want to be holding up “Ozzie and Harriet” standards?

Here’s my humble proposal. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

There have been times when reading some of the posts that the only way I can avoid being “an occasion of sin for a man” is to never go out as whatever I wear is likely to be provoking to some man.

But even that wouldn’t work as some man might come to the door!!
Sure. All the women who even post here are an occasion of sin because I can imagine them in a miniskirt!
😃

Not their fault that they have standards regarding their women. I personally love the way they dress. I’d do it myself, but I don’t want to be mistaken for a Muslim woman.
Full burka and all! Then I could wear my trousers underneath.

And while we’re at it why not put all female children in separate accommodation when they turn 9 or 10 so men may not be aroused. Then they could move into their husband’s house when they marry (arranged of course) and not be allowed outside at all for the rest of their life.

On the other hand if men are the ones who are aroused why not save then from themselves by having them restricted rather than the women.

Perfect! I say put blinders on them all & that will solve the problem.

First off, latinmasslover is a SHE. I said “get the retch bowl” because many women here (that comment was not for CM only, but for all reading) have the moral value system of an irreligious pagan, and thought I’d do the charitable thing by giving a warning. If you don’t believe women are called to be modest (just as men are) then you should join an unChristlike ecclesial community with no standards.

Why don’t you cut the sarcasm and try to be adult about this.

Hey,I think this was a seriously good recommendation for society & for men in particular since they have such visual challenges.
The State should enforce anything that protects men’s virtue.
Public floggings of unchastely dressed women would be helpful too.

And the childish sarcasm continues. Some just can’t take a hint. Perhaps I’m *too *subtle?😊

Standards?? You can’t be serious. The women in Muslim countries are second class citizins. They have no rights. If the husband wants to beat the **** out her, he can…he “owns” her like a piece of furniture. Female castration is the real deal there too. Planes fly every day…sounds like your cup of tea.

While we’re at it, maybe we should thank God for the legalization of euthanasia and abortion. 🤷
**My goodness…amazing how it took this long to bring abortion and euthanasia into the picture…so off topic:rolleyes: **

The suffregettes must be rolling over in their graves. How sad for you.

I remember when my grandmother couldn’t vote, own land, or have her own money. But that must be the “good 'ol days” according to your line of thinking.

America, glad I live here. The greatest place on earth.👍

It was a comparison dear, not a change of topic. And I didn’t say that the way the Islamic men treated their women was perfect. In the “spirit of Vatican II” we have to acknowledge the good, wherever we find it.

Ask me if I care. Go ahead. Besides, I’d rather have them turn in their graves than the Saints. Rather sad for you, but I’m sure the opinion of Heaven isn’t really your thing.

So what if it is? In case you’ve forgotten, I have as much freedom of opinion in this country as you do. I just don’t believe that sin should be a guaranteed right…but then again, I’m just a Catholic who believes God comes first. Damn me to Hell for prioritizing.

If it stayed that way…you would not have the “right” to express your opinion as you do now. If it weren’t for the Suffregettes working to get the vote for women, you would be staying home polishing your White Westinghouse Fridge and leaving the room at dinner parties when the “men” discussed politics. Yeah, how splendid that would be

Heaven is my thing…I’m just not in the “sack cloth and ashes” frame of mind.

So Latinmasslover is a woman. I stand corrected on that. However, I must take exception to of your some remarks. In your reply to me you state, “many women here (that comment was not for CM only, but for all reading) have the moral value system of an irreligious pagan” Well, who are you to sit in judgment of the “moral systems” of CM or anyone else? Then you said
to me, “If you don’t believe women are called to be modest (just as men are) then you should join an unChristlike ecclesial community with no standards.” What makes you opine
that I don’t believe in modesty? I believe in modesty for all; hence my suggestion that “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”

Latinmasslover, I think your logic has been shown to be flawed, and you’re merely trying to cover it up. Deep breaths, now!

I like to think of my DH and I as the oak and cypress tree.

“And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow”

I would say she is not sitting in judgment, she is merely a witness to the truth. I don’t find that she was holding men to a double standard either.

Can we all agree on two basic precepts
Men should try to emulate Christ
Women should try to emulate Mary

As far as suffragettes go it is more important to heaven of a ladies obedience, humility and modesty than her head for politics. Lacking one of those areas is in error. There is no anything goes attitude in heaven. From social economic political point of view you might be able to have an argument but not from a catholic theocratic argument.

Besides do not forget what our lady of Fatima said about fashions in the 20th century

"“Certain fashions will be introduced that will offend Our Divine Lord very much.” found here

And our lady of good success mentions something similar.

So women and men should strive to be more modest, but without the desire to draw attentions to themselves.

That would be terrific. God made me a woman, not a man. I’m not going to accuse Him of screwing up.
Heaven is my thing…I’m just not in the “sack cloth and ashes” frame of mind.
The way to Heaven requires obedience to God, the path is narrow. Following the crowd leads to Hell.

That was a comment based on my experience on this site with other women (again, not all). I already said that my statement was not directed at CM. Declaring the obvious does not make me a judge.

I misread what you had said and I apologize.

That would be convenient for this attack, but hiding the truth is for dishonest liberals. If I make a mistake here, I publicly acknowledge it, always have (as you can see by previous posts in other threads). BTW, blood didn’t rush, no need for the breaths.

Obedience to whom? Humility to whom? Modesty according to whom? Her husband? surely you jest. Obey was not in my wedding vows. Yes, I was married in the Catholic Church in 1981, not 1881. How do you know what the “attitude” is in heaven, have you been there? So a woman is better off not getting involved in anything unless it has to do with diapers, cleaning and the latest recipe for potroast? I’m not interested in being or becoming a Stepford Wife. I have a brain and a voice…I will use it.
Arguement…no…discussion…yes…disagreement for sure.

As for modest…I’m a jeans and comfy shirt or sweater kind of woman. At 50, a mid-driff shirt would look horrible on me…too much “muffin top”. Haven’t worn a dress in years. Well, maybe a sun dress and flip flops that’s about it.

God made me a woman…with a brain and thought processes. Again, someone grab the needle arm on the record player…it’s stuck in 1950. Geez louise…
