I never really believed in Santa Claus because we lived in an apartment with no fireplace & chimney to come down.
I went to Catholic school & the nuns taught about Jesus & the real St. Nicholas ā€¦so it never bothered me when I saw Santas with fake beards in every dept. store we shopped in. My parents said they were Santaā€™s helpers.

I didnā€™t like to be lied to & made to look foolish in believing a lie.

We treated the subject in a similar way with our daughter and it didnā€™t cause any psychological problems.

Yes we all saw "Miracle on 34th St. and enjoyed it.

Ah, but did you see the Santa Claus? He addresses the apartment challenge. šŸ˜‰

Be careful ripping on S.C. You donā€™t want to turn into a broken jack in the box! :)šŸ™‚

Iā€™ll stick with the real St. Nick!
As if he would be offended by being turned into the spirit of Christmas joy in the hearts of children.

Santa doesnā€™t represent commercialism. You saw ā€œMiracle on 34th Street?ā€ Wasnā€™t the spirit of Christmasā€“of giving, of believing, of kindness and forgiveness the very heart of the story? And yet it was a fantasy. Fantasy isnā€™t about making things up that arenā€™t real, itā€™s about imparting eternal truths through use of the imagination.

Wait. Santa Claus isnā€™t real? Well then whoā€™s been eating all the cookies Iā€™ve been leaving out?
The dog? šŸ˜‰

Saint nicholas, the premise for santa, WAS REAL. Iā€™d rather tell a child about saint nick.

Thank you for your comment. Anyhow we know what we are talking about.

What premise is untrue. You need to provide an argument.

Resurrection of Jesus is just a claim. Never the less one need to contemplate to understand resurrection based on logic.
Not true. People have testified to that truth. You need to prove your argument. Thousands have testified to the truth of the resurrection of Christ. It is written and documented through history.

Any religious dogma including Catholic should be consistent internally and error free. The dogma falls apart once one find one error.
And that is why it is so great. Nothing taught infallible by the RCC has ever been inconsistent and always error free. Simply because it is the true word of God.

If you would like to show a inconsistency in Catholic teaching, I would love to hear it.

I am happy that you accepted the fact that soul doesnā€™t occupy any room upon the death. This however means that the soul cannot be located hence resurrection is impossible.

Assuming that God could create soul upon conception, God cannot locate soul hence he cannot unite soul with the matter to create body. Conception and resurrection suffer from the same problem.
Oh, you mean like love cannot be located, hence love is impossible?

I am debating with Catholic who believe that soul exist.
Catholics also believe your premise false. But the burden of proof is yours. If you can prove the existence of the soul then you can supply evidence that your premise is true or false.

OP:

Do you need to ā€œlocateā€ your memories, or the number 4? Do you need a physical Rolodex for them?

Of course not, they are in your mind.

Likewise, we are subsidiary minds (souls) within the divine mind. God will have no difficulty to rebody all of us, whatever the form or material of the new body.
