With so much violence in our world, wouldn’t it be better if we called it “threadcloser” or “threadfinisher”? Think of the children!
 
Just realized that if this thread ever closes then someone will have to labeled as a threadkiller for life. That may not play well with any future employers.
 
I’d better post here while I can, in case I give up thread-killing for Lent

Let’s think about this. The word mortification, so closely associated with Lent, comes to us from mors, the Latin word for death. Just as it is appropriate to put to death our passions during Lent, it follows that thread killing is also a most excellent act of penance. Therefore, let no one post in this thread for the duration of Lent… starting now.

I beg to differ. Given how many times it has managed to get us to keep it alive, this thread must be up to something. It is like a siren calling to us with its song, pulling us into a horrifying demise!
