Roman Catholic and Orthodox Membership Explosion

I am 61 years young and was a lifelong LCMS (for those who don't know, a ultra-conservative Lutheran) who converted to Roman Catholicism exactly one year ago. Both my wife and I are so happy we did. For us, it was like coming home given our appreciation for apostolic succession, the importance of the Sacraments, and our strong belief that God does not change with the whims of culture. There are many other reasons as well, but ultimately it has lit a fire to enrich our spiritual life.

What I am intrigued by is the fact that "something" is happening. Our local parish witnessed 15-20 new baptisms and around 60 new members at the Easter Vigil. I have been reading this is happening everywhere. One of the biggest groups is young 20 something men which is amazing. It is not just happen to Roman Catholic parishes, but also in Orthodox churches as well.

I grew up in a time when my entire extended family and all of our friends went to church regularly. In the 1980s, I began to see things change dramatically. In the 1990s-2010 over time, we became a much smaller minority. And now this? It is exciting. Clearly God is at work here, but I am curious if others have noticed and what their thoughts are on it.

There is indeed an influx, not the tidal wave that any faithful Catholic should wish to see, but definitely a noticeable "spike".

Laus Deo!

Our smallish rural parish actually had a young, high school-aged man come into the Catholic Church this past Sunday. The first in 2-3 years.
I have seen no "explosion" in this area, but that may be different in Ottawa at St. Clement Parish which celebrates the Traditional Latin Mass only. People there are very pious. I've heard that this sort of solid Catholic way of worship and teaching is contagious.

I never noticed any real expansion at my church until recently.

Just within the past few years I have started running into people that go to my church in the normal course of my day.

I can remember a couple of decades ago, it was unusual to run into someone that was Catholic.
Then something changed within the past decade or so, and I started running into people.
And a few years later I have started running into people from my own parish.
