Rosalind was in St Louis last week for legal and business matters but is back in California now.She goes to Ohio on Friday for a conference and then will be back in California on Sunday. At this point in time, she is still scheduled to make the final move to St Louis on the 19th.
Please feel free to contact me for any questions

Nunsense is “no nonsense”. Aren’t we lucky we have her to keep me on the straight and narrow:thumbsup:
Thank you nunsense! I am looking forward to Rosalind’s show today. I think she has “mentally” moved to St Louis now that she has taken care of the legal and business matters.

I am glad you two gentle ladies discussed the topic of “to wear or not to wear a habit”. I would like to applaud you both for showing how to discuss a controversial topic and both come out smelling like roses. :nun1: :nun2: :heaven: Rosiland would be proud…but we all know she is way too humble to ever be “proud”.
Thank you, kind friend! 👍

Rosalind is on the radio right now.
Report:

Families…children and adults…are already sprucing up the convent. It won’t be quite ready when Rosalind and her four chosen ones arrive on the 19th. Therefore, Rosalind will be staying with her brother David who lives with the Hebrew Catholics. Nunsense will have to tell us whether or not she also will be staying at David’s. Rosalind only spoke for herself.

It is wonderful that Rosalind will be in the same city as her brother who positively influenced her during her journey.

😛 Nunsense knows where she will be staying, but it doesn’t really need to be posted here 😃

Nunsense thinks she needs to be quiet for awhile - so she can listen to Ros on radio 🙂

You are right…it is none (nun) of our business. Probably your rich uncle has given you a going away present. He has reserved the executive suite at the most expensive hotel in St Louis just for you. There is caviar and champagne waiting…just for you!
But my guess is you will tell him thank you for the lovely present but I would prefer a sleeping bag at the convent. :getholy:

I am very happy and excited for you.

onetruechurch, you have a wicked sense of humor - thank you for making me laugh! 😃

Wasn’t Ros just wonderful on the radio today? It was the first time I have ever heard her live (well, I have heard her in person and spoken with her - but this was just my first time listening to her on radio live). I have downloaded audios and seen her on EWTN but this was so great to hear her speaking and know that she was actually on her own phone at that very moment talking to the radio station! Some of the questions seemed a little strange to me, but she handled them all so beautifully. I only wish I had that gift. But then St Paul says that the Holy Spirit has given each of us different gifts - now I just need to find out what He has given me so I can use it better 🙂

I only wish now that I could go to Ohio this weekend and be at the conference there to hear her again - I learn something every time I hear her speak! Ah well, only one week before I leave my job and go to San Diego to help with the packing, so I can’t complain now can I? Yes, I am very excited, and perhaps even a little scared too. This is my second time at trying the convent - so please pray for me that this is where Our Lord wants me to be :crossrc:

Hey, I live in St. Louis and I’m trying to figure out what hotel even meets that criteria!!😃

Welcome to our city nunsense and all those joining you. I hope you find your stay here to be joyous and rewarding. I love it here and hope you do too.

Kris

PS - have you been warned about the humidity yet? There’s nothing quite like a hot St. Louis summer day - that’s what Ted Drewes frozen custard is for - make sure you get there!! It’s so good.

Well, when you figure out which hotel it is, be sure to let me know - it does sound good! 🙂

I think I am just the teeniest bit jealous because Marie is going to get to St Louis before me (she flies there on the 20th) but since I am driving, I figure I can always stop along the way and see the new Get Smart movie when it comes out on the 20th:D 😃 The other three women have all been to visit the convent already with Ros, so I am definitely the “newbie” here.

Thanks for the welcome to SL. I drove through Missouri once when I went cross country and I loved how friendly everyone was! Are you going to come by the convent to say hi?? I lived in upstate NY for two years so I understand the humidity - much different than California - this desert land! I haven’t tried frozen custard though - it sounds good. 👍

I can’t recommend the custard enough - it’s definitely a St. Louis tradition - best served after a Cardinal victory!!

I’d love to come visit. If it’s where I’m thinking, the convent is really close to my father in law’s. Do you know if the closest parish is St. Mark’s? By the way, St. Louis is pretty Catholic and even many non-Catholics know what parish they’re supposed to be in!! Unfortunately, with all the parish merging, parish boundaries aren’t nearly the location descriptor they used to be.

Again, welcome. PM me if you have any questions.

Hi Annie
It’s great that Ros asked you to take care of applicants ! You kindly took note of my message recently but I was just wondering whether I need to write to you or Ros and apply more formally for 3rd order and lay associate information.

Also will the sisters always be referred to with the full title or will you have a shorter version eg. Daughters of Mary etc.

Hi Annie (nunsense):

As you said in your post:

“I only wish now that I could go to Ohio this weekend and be at the conference there to hear her again - I learn something every time I hear her speak! Ah well, only one week before I leave my job and go to San Diego to help with the packing, so I can’t complain now can I?”

No, dear Annie, you can’t complain! 🙂 You must savor this wonderful experience and share as much of it as you can with all of us! 🙂

I offered to help with cleaning and sprucing up the convent online to the email address Rosalind put in my application packet. I said I could come the middle of July, but I have not yet heard anything back. If the local people are already there working, maybe they won’t need anyone in mid-July??? 😦 Oh no, I was so hoping to meet you all! Could you let me know if you know anything about their needing more workers?

Thanks, and God’s choicest blessings to you!

Know exactly where it is - it is close to my father in law’s - I knew I had heard of Heege and knew it was south but just confused myself originally where it was exactly.

Let me know when you get here - I’ll personally treat you to that Ted Drewes!😃 You’re relatively close!!!

I did pass on your message to Ros last time I spoke with her on the phone. There really isn’t anything in place yet for the Third Order so there is no formal application yet. I do have your name and email address, so will write to you when there is anything more definite. Ros did say that everything will be posted on the website when it is up and running.

As for shortening the name of the community, well, now don’t quote me on this because it is all my own imagination, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it ended up with a “nickname” - you know, like the Friars minor became the Franciscans? There are so many “Daughters of Mary” that it wouldn’t work just to shorten the name. Maybe we need a contest to come up with a good nickname? I think I’ll have to ask Ros about that one 😉 - she might have an opinion on that!

oldconvert - If you want to send me an email with all the info that you sent to the volunteer coordinator, I could see that it gets to her. Ros did mention that there is no accommodation for out of state volunteers right now, so that might be a problem for some people. Since the convent isn’t even ready for the sisters yet, there isn’t any place there for guests! And although some of the locals might be prepared to offer space in their homes, it would just be one more thing that needs arranging, trying to match up people to places. Anyone who has relatives they can stay with, or can afford a motel would certainly be used if they wanted to come. Anyway, email me privately and I will see what I can do. anniemac@calequus.com

Hi Annie,
Thanks again for all you’re doing !
I am praying for you to know God’s will and can understand your nervous excitement. I"m sure the Lord has good things in store for you !
As for the “nickname” -
I was educated by Blessed Mary MacKillop’s “Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart” who are known affectionately as the “Brown Joeys”. Well…their work amongst the rural and bush communities is legend but I could never figure out if the “Joey” referred to St Joseph or baby kangaroos !
Clearly some nicknames are better than others lol !!
bless you
Trish

Ok - if we go along those lines, we would have to be the Blue Lambs because the habit will be blue and Ros is going to be Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God - plus she loves all those Good Shepherd analogies. Here is a link she loves - it is of a lost lamb who finds Jesus, the Good Shepherd…

Ohhh ! That was so beautiful !! Love the cuddle at the end.
" I shall look for the lost one, bring back the stray, bandage the wounded and make the weak strong. …I shall be a True Shepherd to them". Ezek 34:16
“There are other sheep I have that are not of this fold, and these I have to lead as well. They too will hear My voice, and there will be only one flock, and one Shepherd”. John10:16
May it happen soon !

“Blue Lambs” could be a winner !
I’ve read that when Jesus called Jairus’ daughter “Talitha” he was saying “little lamb”. Shows the tender heart of our Shepherd !!

Here is exciting news for older women who have always wanted to be a nun. I just returned from a Catholic Business Breakfast and Rosalind Moss (of Catholic Answers) announced she is founding a new order of nuns that will evangelize on the streets. They will be wearing the traditional nun’s habits. Rosalind who is turning 65 said she will accept all ages. This will all start to happen in three months. All the preliminary papers have been signed and approved.👍
Awesome! Can I bring my 4 girls in, too?😃
