Support for a repressive oligarchy. Failure to view in light of the government’s oppression of LGBT activists that involves violence and is no way in line with the Church teaching on respect and dignity.Like what?

no, I’ve stated, not implied, that there are people who’d use snitches and peeping toms to root out all gays. No, they do not. I think you just like implying that.
You are being sensationalist. Back it up with facts rather than being defamatory and accusing peopleno, I’ve stated, not implied, that there are people who’d use snitches and peeping toms to root out all gays.
Who? Please help me understand what you’re talking about, if possible.no, I’ve stated, not implied, that there are people who’d use snitches and peeping toms to root out all gays.

Its not possible, sorry.Who? Please help me understand what you’re talking about, if possible.
You are right. Not possible because not true. Its not possible, sorry.

Ok, being pedantic does not change the fact you like saying it even if it is untrue.no, I’ve stated, not implied, that there are people who’d use snitches and peeping toms to root out all gays.
Which posts are contrary to Catholic teaching? I do not know the specifics of Russian law but there is nothing contrary to Catholic teaching having laws against perverted acts.Support for a repressive oligarchy. There have been threads where Catholics have defended centuries old laws against sodomy. The post modern liberal-minded do not like that.Who? Please help me understand what you’re talking about, if possible.
Do you approve of tackling one moral issue at a time? They also have something like 5 times the murder rate of the US. It seems like if Russia is serious about having a more moral society there are bigger and more important issues they could tackle.
One dissenting vote…Trying to read too much into it will just lead you off into left field.
The law is about homosexuality, not murder, or a “more moral society” overall.
It is simply an expression of the culture’s visceral disgust for homosexuality.
It’s that simple.
I think the last line of the article helps make the point:

On April 9, 1974, results of the vote were announced. Only 10,555 of the 17,905 APA members had voted in the election. The results were as follows,
I hope those that believe that the majority of Psychiatrists voted homosexuality out of the DSM understand that this vote is not in their favor and they accept the majority opinion in Russia.Total APA members eligible to vote: 17,905
Number of APA members that actually voted: 10,555
Number of members that “Abstained”: 367
Number of “ No” votes-votes to keep “homosexuality” in the DSM as a mental disorder: 3,810
Number of “Yes” votes-votes to remove “homosexuality” from the DSM as a mental disorder: 5,854
Which part of the law do you find wrong?Reading some of these answers is breaking my heart. Yes, homosexual acts are not accepted by the Catholic teachings but this doesn’t mean that homosexual people don’t deserve respect and love. What happened to your hearts? Where is your compassion? These laws in Russia (but something similar happened also in Uganda) are encouraging a culture of hate and are de facto making legal bullying and persecution. Each individual is responsible for his/her own moral and religious choices and, if these choices are not hurting other citizens, the state should guarantee and defend the freedom of each person.
You should dismiss yourself from this thread so as not to be part of the shock or the shame. There are too many examples to quote, but the callous and downright evil sentiments expressed in this thread are truly shocking. Most of you should be ashamed.
What is the stance of the LGBT activists as it concerns Church teaching?Support for a repressive oligarchy. Failure to view in light of the government’s oppression of LGBT activists that involves violence and is no way in line with the Church teaching on respect and dignity.
