Like what?
Support for a repressive oligarchy. Failure to view in light of the government’s oppression of LGBT activists that involves violence and is no way in line with the Church teaching on respect and dignity.

no, I’ve stated, not implied, that there are people who’d use snitches and peeping toms to root out all gays.
You are being sensationalist. Back it up with facts rather than being defamatory and accusing people

This sort of law is both necessary and moral, and should be passed in other countries.

The global political movement of those involved in this perversion seeks to convert and propagandize everyone into its abominable desires and practices, countermeasures such as this are *necessary *to effectively oppose it.

All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. To be silent, or complicit, to treat with soft words that which must be opposed harshly due to its evil.

Especially because of the great amount of power these people have in the government and media to spread their propaganda, there needs to be government action where the will exists to oppose it – because other world governments, such as the U.S.A.'s are spending huge amounts of money to promote it. This is where the tax dollars go. This is where the money sent to the “entertainment” industry goes.

If the government were less corrupt and it investigated Hollywood, how bad things were would be the better revealed, and prisons would be filled, but it hardly needs an investigation to be obvious, the propaganda that comes out throughout the world’s trashy ‘entertainment’ and so-called ‘news’ (actually propaganda) show the type of people who are behind it.

In fact so much of the entertainment of today is organized around promoting the agenda of these people. What is being done to oppose their agenda is utterly insufficient.

And these sins are where the focus is simply now, after the work is completed the next step in evil will commence, because the sins of the flesh are so effective in sending souls to Hell. It will only become worse and worse.

Where? Who?

Which posts are contrary to Catholic teaching? I do not know the specifics of Russian law but there is nothing contrary to Catholic teaching having laws against perverted acts.

Reading some of these answers is breaking my heart. Yes, homosexual acts are not accepted by the Catholic teachings but this doesn’t mean that homosexual people don’t deserve respect and love. What happened to your hearts? Where is your compassion? These laws in Russia (but something similar happened also in Uganda) are encouraging a culture of hate and are de facto making legal bullying and persecution. Each individual is responsible for his/her own moral and religious choices and, if these choices are not hurting other citizens, the state should guarantee and defend the freedom of each person.

They also have something like 5 times the murder rate of the US. It seems like if Russia is serious about having a more moral society there are bigger and more important issues they could tackle.
Do you approve of tackling one moral issue at a time?

Trying to read too much into it will just lead you off into left field.

The law is about homosexuality, not murder, or a “more moral society” overall.

It is simply an expression of the culture’s visceral disgust for homosexuality.

It’s that simple.

I think the last line of the article helps make the point:

One dissenting vote…
On April 9, 1974, results of the vote were announced. Only 10,555 of the 17,905 APA members had voted in the election. The results were as follows,
Total APA members eligible to vote: 17,905
Number of APA members that actually voted: 10,555
Number of members that “Abstained”: 367
Number of “ No” votes-votes to keep “homosexuality” in the DSM as a mental disorder: 3,810
Number of “Yes” votes-votes to remove “homosexuality” from the DSM as a mental disorder: 5,854
I hope those that believe that the majority of Psychiatrists voted homosexuality out of the DSM understand that this vote is not in their favor and they accept the majority opinion in Russia.

Which part of the law do you find wrong?

There are too many examples to quote, but the callous and downright evil sentiments expressed in this thread are truly shocking. Most of you should be ashamed.
You should dismiss yourself from this thread so as not to be part of the shock or the shame.

What is the stance of the LGBT activists as it concerns Church teaching?

Stop reading…:bighanky:

Broken hearts mend.

As it concerns responsibility take responsibility for yourself.🙂
