Saddened by a website

I have a priest in my Parish who recommends NIV for learning, he went to it when i was looking for the book of Enoch (pbwh) off course it was not there.

This is true. NIV is good because it is in fairly new English, meaning it is not very antiquated. It is good for any Christian who wants to study.

The Catholic church doesn’t recognize it as acceptable(or something like that) because NIV does not include the 72 books of the Catholic canon. It only has 66.

Then you have corrected me, it was a different book he had, my eyes or memory deceived me.

As a check what colour is his hair?

I found a website called jesus-is-savior.com, which devoted a lot of time to terrible misinterpretation through words, pictures, etc. Of Roman Catholocism. It shocked me. Naively, I hadn’t thought of what wrong things others might be reading about the faith. The website claimed that Catholics worship Mary, Catholics are heretics, the rosary is from the devil, etc. The whole thing has made me extremely sad. Have you seen this website personally, or had a similar experience of shock that I’ve had? How can anyone believe those things against the church?

Oh yeah… I haven’t read all the posts in this thread and I apologize if this has been brought up before, but when reading your OP I immediately thought of Jack Chick and his little tracts. If you want to see misinformation about the Catholic Church, google on Jack Chick and read a few of his idea. If they weren’t so awful they would be hilarious.

Well, actually I find them hilarious anyway. I love the drawings of the people who were deciding which books should be in the Bible. Good 'ol Jack draws them with evil, laughing faces, laughing at what they are going to put in the Bible. We are all going to hell, but Jack says he loves us.

I, personally, have never met anyone of any faith come to the defense of Jack Chick.
 
I’ve known about the website jesus-is-savior.com for a long time, and I actually find it funny. I find it funny that someone could be so stupid to believe in all the conspericy theries and stuff. I forget the URL, but there was a Lutheran pastor that actually wrote a blog entry as a reponse to this guy. There is another blog intent on exposing the truth behind the author of jesus is savior. The author of jesus is savior obviously does not know how to put scripture together, because well if he did, his site would look a lot different (who knows it could be a site devoted to the Chicago Cubs or something). 🤷

Do you use Jesus is Lord website (the site we are taking about) as a primary source of Catholicism?

so you don’t bother to think about anyone past or present? That is truly sad. As Jesus Himself preached that we are to love one another, not to ignore and forget.

In fairness, Calvinists don’t think about them anyway.

Well, maybe the first and last at Christmas time, but they seem more concerned with trees and such anyway.

I see you are 15 years of age, PLEASE stay away from all the welbsite and Jack Chick and keep loving Jesus and you will not go wrong,God bless You and welcome to the board.
