No such thing as “white privilege.” Sorry. Not buying into that propaganda.
I have not seen it during a mass but sometimes after the final blessing, the pastor will make an announcement of sorts. Not about racial disparity but on something happening at the Church or school. Even those occasions are rare. It’s beyond disturbing IMO. I attend a TLM parish, so you don’t ever see that sort of thing there. I liked what Bishop Strickland said. That if this would have happened in his diocese, a lot of the parishioners would have gotten up and walked out. I certainly know I would have.
But he did not say that. He said that white supremacy must be dismantled where it is present. Surely you do not believe that we are free from white supremacy in America. It still exists, I assure you.The whole notion that this is a white supremacist country is complete bunk
Well, that is an opinion. I guess all have them.No such thing as “white privilege.” Sorry.
Yes, economic inequity has a lot more to do with privilege, as a whole. But again, he was addressing the issues that affect his parish. The term white privilege is a racist attack. Privilege cuts across all racial lines.
It wasn’t his parish. Again, not all parishes have the same issues. I am really surprised a bishop does not acknowledge that this could have been a problem in NYC, and not everywhere.I liked what Bishop Strickland said. That if this would have happened in his diocese,
Give an example. As fair as I know, the only form of illegal and acceptable racial discrimination in this country is affirmative action, which is systematic racism against whites and Asians in favor of blacks and non-white Hispanics. Tell me, why would something like that fly in a white supremacist nation? And why would a white supremacist nation elect a black man twice? Or have so many people in power scolding white people constantly over their supposed privilege? But he did not say that. He said that white supremacy must be dismantled where it is present. Surely you do not believe that we are free from white supremacy in America. It still exists, I assure you.
If he would have done it in Timbuktu it wouldn’t have made it right. What he did was completely inappropriate in any diocese IMO. It’s almost like he’s reinventing, and putting his own spin on the Renewal of Baptismal Promises recited at the Easter Vigil! It wasn’t his parish. Again, not all parishes have the same issues. I am really surprised a bishop does not acknowledge that this could have been a problem in NYC, and not everywhere.
LOL - I just looked this up and he is the bishop of Tyler! I assure you, that is not New York City. That is so funny. I should have guessed.
What exactly is political about racial injustice? To the extent that it exists, it is a moral imperative to destroy it.Strictly political.
The whole “white privilege” spiel…but your mileage may vary. What exactly is political
I see. My mileage, and that of the bishops, does vary. The whole “white privilege” spiel…but your mileage may vary.
Here is some more:Give an example. Yeah, those crazy successors to the Apostles. Where do they get off asserting teaching authority?Yeah…the USCCB, there’s no politics there.
