so how does France pay for free everything? what is their debt like?

Bernie has a backup generator I guess
Sanders won the hearts of ~150 WY democrats to win the state.

Leo XIII explicitly rejects socialism in Rerum Novarum. “Democratic” socialism is still Marxism; it is merely enforced by the ballot instead of the bullet.

That is the only difference between communism and socialism; it is like telling a man he can either be murdered or he can commit suicide. The endgame is still the confiscation of private property.

Ultimately, a socialist is a man who believes the people exist for the state, not the state for the people. Charity must be voluntary; it cannot be forced, any more than one can force faith or hope.

Sanders supporters, I have found, quite literally worship the state. They think their god, Government, will solve everything. The only difference between what Sanders espouses and trickle-down economics is who the overlords are.
Can you give me an example of Bernie’s proposed economic policies that violate Church teaching?

We know single payer does not violate Church teaching, as many countries have that.
We know higher taxes don’t violate Church teaching.
We know that support for labor unions don’t violate Church teaching.
So which of his proposed economic policies violate Church teaching?

In fact I think he’s a bit to the right to Catholic social teachings – and to the right to JPII, BXVI and Pope Francis…but not nearly as much as the other candidates are, who are big corporate sell-outs ready to destroy all life on earth to please their dev-oil masters.

I was a young person during the McCarthy era and even shook Nixon’s hand at a rally when he was running to gov against Pat Brown in Calif. My mother was convinced our next door neighbors were commies. So years later I was surprised to learn they were not, but even considered Nasser (Egypt’s prez) a commie with great abhorrence.

No, socialism to me sort of sounds like Western European countries, like France and England, where they have free health care, free professional childcare (not paid baby-sitters from Hell), and free college. My niece in France even got an extension on her paid maternity leave due to medical problems.

That’s what socialism is to me.

It is communism where you only have one dept store, Goom, and only one fabric with which to make dresses and shirts – polka-dot – and endless gulag archipelagoes. Now we really wouldn’t want that.
A) France’s tax rate is 75%. Link

With taxes so high, would anyone in America want to work? Why work when everything is free?
**
B) France is a small country.** Link

France has close to 67 Million people. The United States has closer to 322 Million people. Can something in such a small country work on a larger scale?

C) The closest thing we have to government run healthcare is the VA… Link

…and it is run horribly. Our veterans are put on lists where they wait, and wait, and wait…

D)The National Health Service in England is failing…Link

…Or at least it failed one of its former directors, who waited nine months on a waiting list only to die before she could see treatment.

What about his social policy, which clearly violates church teaching?

Or do we just want to talk about other stuff and completely ignore that?

I agree with you. Socialism is inherently anti-Catholic.

The topic was socialism, so I was restricting my comments to his economic policies. I did not say that anyone should vote for Bernie. However, when considering his economic policies, nobody has been able to identify any of his economic policies that violate Church teaching.

The question is, which of Bernie’s proposed economic policies violates church teaching on socialism?
None of his economic policies appear to violate Church teaching. Socialism is more than economics though.

Davis was invited by the now “fired” nuncio, not the pope. Pope Francis has said he didn’t even know who Davis was, and the only people he met privately with were his family and a former student. He didn’t even know who she was when she went through the receiving line.

I think Bernie was invited by Vatican officials, not the pope himself, and I like Bernie! Even he says he was invited by “the Vatican” and he “hopes” he can meet the pope.
A former student and the former student’s same sex partner.

Was that included with the list of proportionate reason allowing a Catholic to vote for a Pro-abortion candidate?

The only accomplishment in Hillary life is being Bills wife. She knows that which is why she enabled his ongoing adultery, sexual harassment and sexual assualt
Do you blame the wife of every man who commits adultery for has behavior or just Hillary’? That would be like saying an alcoholic is not responsible for his behavior, it is the fault of everyone else.

That’s a fair defense. 👍

We’re not talking about a woman who just tolerated sexual harassment and sexual assault. We are talking about a woman who’s used all the power she had to shut these women up She was complicit in enabling him to continue to carry on this behavior
