Sanders supporters are the participation trophy generation (my generation) come home to roost. Being told we were all special snowflakes has caused millenials to declare anything they want a human right that must come at another’s expense. Mark Twain refutes Bernie fans in two sentences: “the world does not owe you a living. It was here first”.
The fact that Bernie is a “democratic” socialist does not make the implications of his socialism any less pernicious. The endgame of socialism is, under the pretense of “equality”, to ensure everyone is the serf of the government and to eliminate private property and independent thought.
A lot of people say we need “democratic socialism” because “so much wealth is controlled by the elite few”. So, the solution, according to them, is there give all the wealth and means of producton to an elite few?
The State exists for people, not people for the State. Unfortunately, that notion quickly runs away.
The most dangerous thing about Bernie Sanders supporters is that they blindly and unquestioningly believe the oldest lie in history: that politicians have the everyman’s best interests at heart. The worst job of any man is to lord it over others; not one in a million is fit of it, and least of all those who seek the opportunity.
Thankfully, the scales have fallen from my eyes. We in the West are not free, we are free range tax cattle. The powers that be would have us all exterminated once they no longer have use for us. The safest assumption is that anyone with political authority wants to: rob you, imprison you, enslave you, kill you, drag your soul to damnation, or any combination of the above.
Lastly, it cracks me up how Bernie plugs an anti-establishment ethos when his entire platform is to get the government’s Lovecraftian tentacles on even more of our lives. It really does make an anarchistic, Mad Max-style free for all look attractive by comparison.
