Congrats again to Bernie. I still think HRC is too far ahead for him to realistically overtake her, but I am all about him keeping on until the convention floor!

I too will stand fully behind the Partyā€™s nominee.

Socialism tends to be more pro-choice than regular liberalism. The Soviet Union was the first country to legalize abortion.

Yelena Mizulina has been working hard to reduce abortions and abortion rights in Russia. But the Americans have sanctioned her. She has:
introduced a tax on divorce
proposed new restrictions on abortion
condemned homosexual activity
proposed to strengthen the role of the Orthodox church in passing legislation relative to family matters
to increase the number of multi-generational families (families where grandparents, parents and grandchildren live together).
But the Americans do not like her restrictions on abortion rights, and her support of restrictions on the distribution of homosexual propaganda to children so they sanction her.

It really wonā€™t work here. I donā€™t think thereā€™s enough (certainly paid) apprenticeships for a lot of the nonsense that pass for college degrees.

The Swiss, as I understand it, are more practical about doing useful things demanded in the economy more than what they would ideally prefer.

The current college-age student in many cases may be scarred for life if they were shooed into such roles.

This is one reason why socialism would never work, even for the youngest, loudest Bernie voter.

She is a member of the socialist party A Just Russia though. She is also a former Communist Party member.

How I wish it was!

Iā€™ll admit Manchin has a not-too-certain record on abortion around the edges, but heā€™s light years ahead of Hillary and Bernie, and probably Trump as well.

But the present Dem party would never choose Joe Manchin. Never.

Interesting stance, but it would be difficult to maintain good balance. The key point is that if there is a strong economy, then the government can afford more welfare-type programs. But welfare cannot be the norm in a strong economy.

I donā€™t think the Democratic nomination is fixed any more than the Republican, though I do think Hillary will be the nominee and also win the general.
