If Palin is named as Ambassador to Canada, Canada could turn on us and make Justin Bieber the Canadian Ambassador to the US. :ouch:
Canada has an ambassador to the US?
It probably should be Bieber.

Makes you wonder if some day Trump gets to hear the words “you’re fired”?

No thanks. The tone of the board has echoed much of the leftists protesters as of late - angry, bitter, hate-filled and mean. I don’t find people like that funny or amusing, nor do i have any desire to associate with them period. We appear to have nothing in common, and the common thread of religious baptism clearly isn’t enough to tie us. Look around the board. I doubt many people see certain folks on here as anything but hateful and spoiled, so I guess the lines have been drawn.

And frankly, that’s okay. issues are too serious to laugh off and kick back while enjoying a beer with people who display a level of nastiness as is at times exuded. Most of us can pick better allies.
I could not agree with you more.

More fake news…Nobody in the administration has even mentioned Palin as a potential replacement for the Canadian ambassador, nor, to my knowledge as Palin expressed an interest in becoming the ambassador to Canada. I guess leftists just can’t feel good about themselves unless their putting someone else down. Cue the Hillbilly Barbie jokes…
Hillbilly Barbie would be rather cool. Of course I have a fantasy version of that but oh well.

I like palin. It’s a shame she has been reduced to a joke. I think she is ahead of her time. Too bad. Though if trump can be prez. I guess there may be hope…
She has been loyal and supportive of trump in a time when others were not. It’s not surprising if she were rewarded for that. That is how politics works.
I would have liked to see perhaps sec of ed. Or even health and human services. I’d take a federal appointment for a judgeship though…
Sir she reduced herself as a joke. In my opinion she is very attractive but that is about all I can say. I am surprised she didn’t show up on “Duck Dynasty”

No, the left were responsible for her being characterized as a joke.

Have you heard what she has said? Sir/Ma’am/Individual it doesn’t take much to listen to her and know that she is a burger, fries, and ice short of a full fast food meal.

They will still do a better job than Hillary would be doing. It would be the same old thing. I am so happy we aren’t dealing with a Hillary administration.
If Hilary was in charge, and I wish she was, it would have been business as usual and we wouldn’t be here having this discussion. I don’t think for one second she is a great person but compared to the circus now. Heck I would take dorky W back seeing as he would just say stupid things that wouldn’t cause international incidents.

I remember when Democrats told me that Sarah Palin was going to be in Trump’s cabinet. I almost died of laughter told them that “IF she was, it would be Sec of the Interior, but I seriously doubted it.”

Maybe Trump will make her Ambassador to Russia. Afterall, she can see Russia from her house. 😃

In all seriousness, I still think she was the main reason McCain lost in 2008.

I wasn’t aware that was a qualification.
She can make law but not interpret it?
Different skill set, don’t you think?

A judge has to be completely knowledgeable about the law, trial procedure (the Federal Rules of Civil or Criminal Procedure, just to start), and know how to read a case, and understand the concepts of common law, and precedent, and appellate issues, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

They’re not legislators, and legislators aren’t judges. We come back to that checks and balances thing again.

Do all federal judges have a law degree? Have they historically?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:👍👍

Sir that was epic.

Yes.

Actually, maybe not.

I doubt that there has been a federal judge who has not been admitted to the bar (at least not in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries), but there have been judges, and even judges of the Supreme Court, without law degrees, although not recently.

Lawyers could qualify for bar admission through sort of an apprenticeship program. After a number of years working in a law firm, and learning the law that way, they could take the bar exam, and qualify as lawyers.

From [Above the Law](he last justice without a law degree was Stanley Reed, who served on the Court from 1938 to 1957. Although he never finished his formal legal studies, Reed did gain admission to the bar and was a practicing lawyer. (Like Kagan and her former boss Thurgood Marshall, Reed was serving as solicitor general when he was nominated to the Court.))
