I saw this, Thorolfr, and almost started a thread but debated if it would be worth it on this forum but you beat me to it.

I have no problem with the thread being started, but how much can we discuss it? Sure, I’ll agree that the school shouldn’t have included that line, but then what more is there to say about it?

Yeah, guys can’t show skin period at such events. Even at the beach, at least in North America, there’s no equality here…women are encouraged to show as much skin as possible with tiny bikinis… men wear long, knee length, baggy trunks.

True. However, it is legal, since the 1930s IIRC, for dudes to go to the beach wearing nothing above the waist.

How is it wrong to treat two different body shapes differently? For a smaller girl, a strapless gown with a low bustline can still be modest, as it doesn’t reveal her cleavage. For a girl with a larger chest, the exact same dress would be immodest due to the amount of cleavage revealed.

People should dress in styles appropriate to their body type. As a larger man, I shouldn’t wear skinny jeans and tight shirts.

I don’t think you guys get it.

Just say that “cleavage is not allowed” and girls will work with that. Don’t say “if you’re bigger, strapless dresses are immodest”.

You can easily convey the message of modesty without talking about body types.
