Science Says I’m In The Back Of The COVID Vaccine Line, But Government And Corporations Will Force Me Through It​

The same businesses that successfully coerced an entire populace into covering their faces for nearly any normal activity will be able to apply the same logic to vaccines.

Even as we head into Joe Biden’s promised “dark winter” of masks and more lockdowns, a light is peaking through at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to the efforts of the Trump administration on Operation Warp Speed, a Wuhan virus vaccine is slated to hit the market this month, and people are getting in line. As rhetoric ramps up about the vaccine’s role in getting our lives “back to normal,” however, one huge question nags: Why on Earth would young, healthy people vaccinate themselves against COVID-19?

The New York Times last week published a tool to help “Find Your Place in the Vaccine Line” . . . . . Government and corporations, however, are itching for all of us to get the vaccine as soon as possible.

I’m no anti-vaxxer. Modern medicine is miraculous, and the idea of welcoming previously eradicated ailments by rejecting time-tested vaccines seems foolish at best. The impending COVID-19 vaccine, however, is different — not because it was developed under the Trump administration, as the cynical and hyperpartisan politicos such as Kamala Harris and Andrew Cuomo have told us. Rather, for young, healthy people, the cons of the coronavirus vaccine might well outweigh the pros.

The selling point for the COVID-19 vaccine is that it accomplishes for us the equivalent of herd immunity without the untold deaths it would have taken to achieve that immunity naturally. If this new drug cocktail protects people against the virus, once vaccinated, we should be able to throw our overused surgical masks and porous cloth gaiters in the trash and go about our lives within six feet of one another, dining, working, and worshipping as normal. Why wouldn’t we all get the vaccine at our earliest possible opportunity?

I Don’t Need a Vaccine to Get Back to Normal​

A vast chunk of the population, however, could be doing all those things normally anyway, vaccine or not, if it weren’t for the fear of accidentally infecting someone who is at risk. Young, healthy Americans aren’t wearing masks for themselves; they’re wearing them for grandma. At least that’s what we’re told to do. . . . .

The first thing that stands out to me in that is the mention of herd immunity. We haven’t had time to assume there will be heard immunity with this virus.

But we have had time to see if people can be reinfected with covid-19 and they are.

If anyone is concerned about COVID re-infection with native immunity, how much more should we be concerned about with non-native immunity?

the other problem with this is the PCR test they are running is saying “infection” when there is no “infection” as well.

Every antigen you are ever exposed to throughout your life changes your genetic material. That’s how we develop immunity in the first place! I think you need to think through that a bit more…at least in how you stated it. Otherwise it’s just a fear mongering tactic.

By the time most of us qualify for our turn in the jab line, there will be plenty of evidence of the safety of the vaccine. Those aiming for “long term” dangers are not aware how very rare that possibility actually is. So rare to be statistically insignificant. Bad outcomes from vaccination are pretty much always immediate.

Those wanting to wait and see, I support you. For whatever reasons you wish to wait though, please don’t use fear tactics to justify it. Just state that you want to wait or that you oppose getting this vaccine in spite of its safety. You are allowed to do that and I support that right.

Do expect to get pressure to get vaccinated. If you can’t handle the pressure then stay out of areas where it’s required. There’s not much else you can do. Society pressures us in a myriad of ways and this is just one more in a long line of social pressures. Many of us have tried pressuring others with anti mask stories, election fraud, political takeovers, and horror stories of various kinds. We handle pressure from others all the time!

This is how people justify regularly cheating on their taxes. Many religious people fall into this group, but there are others as well.

People like to blame social media, but this selfishness and ignorance has been around for a lot longer than Facebook and Twitter. Social media has simply amplified it. No one would have put crazy Aunt Jenny on television, but today she can put herself on YouTube.

However, given HIPAA, people simply do not have a right to know one way or the other.

Now… charity requires I consider the possibility that you were referring to the safety of the vaccine.
If so…
The experts can have a reasonable suspicion, but the safety of the vaccine is really up in the air.
There simply has not been sufficient testing.

NOT TRUE. They don’t have suspicions that it is safe. THEY KNOW IT IS SAFE.
