I don’t think classic scooby doo mysteries would be an issue. I watched them and I didn’t become an atheist. I think maybe some recent movies might be objectionable, but that’s a different story

Well, I do think children should not be exposed to the awful character Scrappy Doo like we were. (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

But he’s so cute. 😁

I guess I never minded Scrappy Doo. Then again, I’m also not annoyed by Jar Jar Binks, so I know I’m an outlier. 😜

I don’t have the same Jar Jar hate that some others do. But Scrappy was one of the worst cartoon characters ever.

I really only have vague recollections. I know I used to watch Scooby Doo as a child, and I do remember Scrappy being in some of those episodes. But I must not have watched it regularly enough or when I was old enough to have firm memories of how I felt about any of the individual characters.

I would gladly take a movie with Wesley Crusher and Scrappy Doo put together than watch an hour of Jar-Jar.🤢

Now there’s an idea for a new movie/show. It can be called “The Third Wheels”, and it can be populated by annoying characters. 😁

Here’s a little refresher for those who can’t remember little Scrappy Doo. Heeehee

“Puppy Pow-er!!”

Haha, I found a whole little documentary about Scrappy Doo. Enjoy! 😈😈

It’s raining so my son is watching Scooby Doo. I should intervene!

Is Scooby-Doo Astro’s sibling?(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Years ago I read where Carl Sagan preferred “Scooby Doo” to the “X Files” because the Scooby gang always got down to the facts of the matter (“Why it’s Old Man Johnson in a mask!”), but Mulder persisted in his belief in the supernatural and paranormal.

When a parent insists that something is evil despite being presenting with all manner of evidence to the contrary, they undermine themselves as a good guide as to what good and evil actually is. Are kids’ development and joy irreparably destroyed if they grow up without Scooby-Doo? No. But, children deserve good and fair role models who demonstrate good examples of thoughtful discernment.

Thank you for the films. I disagree with the conclusion of the documentary though—Scrappy was a terrible character from the start. it wasn’t just how the show was changed around Scrappy after ratings went up. He might have been liked at one time by some viewers, but as the clips above show, he was just awful. You have to remember in 1979, a lot of people had questionable taste in clothing and music as well.

Grew up watching Scooby-Doo as well - never noticed anything anti-Christian about it 🙂

Yeah, I have no real opinion about him one way or the other and didn’t watch the video…just thought some folks might enjoy it. 😁

I don’t really remember if he bugged me as a kid or not. I do remember him yelling “Puppy Power!” and being completely clueless and always making things harder for his Uncle Scooby instead of helping. 😉
