Hi

So even Jesus does not know as to when he would come. There is so much hierarchy of the Catholic Church; why don’t they ask it from Jesus and if he does not reply, then “father”?

Have they lost contact with him?

Thanks
They already asked. Why should they ask Him again? He already gave us His answer.

It is good because we have to always be ready. If we knew when He was coming we would be lazy until the last minute.

Peace,

Ryan 🙂

Hi

Nevermind; let it be the Catholic Church to reveal date, month, year and which denomination, faith, reilgion.
Nobody know what physical feauture Jesus had. Would he be recognized from a DNA testing?

I think it is very important.

Thanks
Are you asking about how to recognize Him? As I said, He will come from Heaven and trumpets will sound. All will know it is Him and bow down to Him.

Prayers and petitions,
Alexius:cool:

Very nice of you to say that. Thank you very much. You, someone from a peaceful faith and bridging the gap. I know I have said some sarcastic remarks before but at least I’ve never claimed that I am a terribly nice guy.

Seems you miss the statements that Catholics DO NOT know the time and the day of the second coming of Jesus. The answer for this is simple - the Bible does not say so.

And what is the DNA of Jesus?
Why should we ask the ‘father’ when Jesus will come? When word of God say it is not for us to know?

The fact is - Jesus coming is of secondary important to Catholics. It is a certainty, like night that follows the day. He will come but it will be as the last Judge, as the King. It will be the end of the day.

It is a certainty too that all human will die and will meet his maker. Thus whether Jesus comes today or another 2000 years, it will make no difference because we will die one day and surely will come face to face with him.

What is important - please take note of this - is what we will be when we meet Him; whether we can pass the judgement or not.

Catholics are people of hope. We are saved because Jesus had died for us. We are to witness for Him on earth so that more people will be saved as they know him - the Judge and King.

Catholics wait eagerly for the coming of the King because of this promise. If Jesus were to come much later, it is not for the worse, because then more people will be saved as the words of the Gospel being proclaimed to the end of the earth.

Hope this answer some questions here.
  • Nobody knows the day of Jesus coming.
  • His coming is of secondary important because it is a certainty. If not today, it will be anytime.
  • That we are prepared anytime for this coming.
  • We look forward for this coming for we are people of hope.
  • His coming will be until such a time that the Good News is proclaimed throughout the earth. So in this aspect we can have some inklings of hint when that will be - what with globalization and internet and so forth - news spread faster.
A Catholic priest (or celebrants) of the Holy Mass says this everyday since the beginning of the church to affirm our hope and disposition regarding this issue:

… In your mercy keep us free from sin
and protect us from all anxiety
as we wait in joyful hope
for the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

God bless.

… The Jews are waiting for their Messiah because they did not accept Jesus. So their case is closed. Their Messiah will never come. But the christians are waiting for 2000 years. Is that easy?? Is there a mistake??
Hi bro.

As far as I know the Jews are still waiting for the Messiah since they think that Jesus is not the one. 🙂

As my prevoius post indicates, there is no mistake. We just do not know when Jesus will come (which to us, it will be at the end of the world). But we are not too bothered by that.
Thanks for your explanation and guidance. I wrote what I knew to be correct. But perhaps my knowldge was limited in this matter. Nobody is teaching me against the christian faith. I am on my own.

After your post, I will read the mathews and Luke chapters again. I will try to understand. If I find something not well understood then I will come back with it, or with the same old question/ references. If your explanation is correct that it was about the entry of Jesus into Jeroshlem then I will understand that you are right. Thanks.
It’s alright. Glad you say this. It is common to pick Biblical verse in isolation to back our claim. I encounter this quite often. Of course one tend to get off the mark that way. The Bible must be read and undertsood in context. That’s why it is good to read at least the whole episode or the chapter to undertand the context. Rocky explains the context quite well. 🙂

Perhaps you have read the Bible like you do with the Quran. Unlike the Quran, the Bible is written with chronological order if it’s a narrative book (though not always) while the Quran, if I undertsand correctly, is a compilation of revelation verses.

Peace and God bless.

Reuben

**His (Jesus’) coming is of secondary important **because it is a certainty.
Hi

I think not many Catholics would agree that Jesus Second Coming is of secondary importance. To me it is the most important thing, that is why I am making these queries, please.

Thanks

the point is that the date is of secondary importance because we dont know when…it is a certainty He is coming to judge (important), but secondary is the date because we must be prepared always.

When the veil is lifted from the eyes of the Jews, and their number is suppose to reach 144,000. I don’t think this means the Messianic Jews though. That is why the anti-Christ will come to try to stop this. There will be two global leaders and one will be a world church leader and the other the anti-Christ and it will be near impossible to tell the diff. But members of the elect will be able to distinguish. This is just a discussion I had with a friend.

This is crazy Catholic superstition, but some people say that when a pope changes his name to Peter II, and says he is going to have a short reign it is a sign. This probably is not true though. But, let me warn, Jesus can come whenever so be prepared don’t wait until you hear of a pope call Pope Peter II. 😃

The Second Coming of Jesus is important. The date of His Coming is not. Jesus will come when He comes. To worry about when, except that we should be always ready, is futile isn't it?

May God’s peace, love and mercy be with you all!

The second coming of Our Good Lord Jesus Christ will be the end of time. Obviously, we may not live long enough to see the end of time but one thing is sure for all of us, when we die before the Second Coming of Christ, we will come face to face with God, Our Good Lord Jesus Christ and receive a particular judgment on how we lived our daily lives. Did we follow God’s commandment to love God above everything else and did we love our neighbors as we love ourselves? Did we believe in Jesus Christ, Our Saviour, and followed His teachings by living a life of love?

On the other hand, Our Good Lord Jesus, before He ascended into heaven 2,000 years ago, promised that He will be with His Church until the the end of time. This Church is the Catholic Church, the ONLY Church that He founded 2,000 years ago.

In Sacred Scriptures, John’s Gospel Chapter 6, He has promised that the bread and the wine that we eat and drink IS really His Flesh and Blood to nourish us spiritually. He has commanded us to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood so we have eternal life.

How can that be possible?
  1. It is because He IS God, and can make something out of nothing, and NOTHING is impossible to Him.
  2. He is the Source of Truth for He is Truth Himself.
  3. Because He SAID SO, and that is enough for us to believe.
In fact, some of His earlier followers did not and could not believe nor understand what He was saying about eating His Flesh and drinking His Blood that they left Him and never followed Him again.

So, if you truly want to see and experience the Real Presence of Jesus, the Messiah, Our Risen Lord and Saviour, go to a Catholic Church, anywhere in the world, attend a holy mass (which is celebrated daily and numerous times on Sundays) and there you will truly see and experience first hand what He was talking about. About giving His Flesh and His Blood for us to eat and drink for the life of the world. During holy mass, you will see Him veiled in the presence of a Consecrated Host.

Anybody is welcome anytime to attend holy mass but only when you become Catholic or Orthodox, that you get this AWESOME, beyond human understanding, mind boggling experience of truly eating His Flesh and drinking His Blood through Holy Communion. It is called holy communion because we receive Our Saviour Jesus Christ, God Himself, Who is utmost Purity and Holiness.

That’s why we Catholics do not worry about the date of His Second coming because we already truly receive the Real Presence of Jesus Christ Our Saviour, His Own Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, NOW, at this present moment, every time we go to mass which is celebrated daily.

Imagine, we as Catholics not only talk about Him, read about Him in Sacred Scriptures, pray to Him, worship Him but we actually possess Him by eating Him too! God Himself, the Creator of all things visible and invisible, inside our very own human body. The Creator inside His creature, dwelling in His creation.

Imagine leaving a piece of bread and a glass of wine on your counter, it will NEVER change into flesh or blood no matter how much or how long or how many people have prayed for it to change. In fact, it will just decompose later on, but the Consecrated bread and wine during holy mass HAS turned into Real Flesh and Blood during holy mass throughout the centuries around the world which are called Eucharistic Miracles.

The following are just some of the many examples of eucharistic miracles that has happened. You can even see this in person when you go to the Catholic Church where they are kept for centuries and has not corrupted. Isn’t that amazing? Just another proof He truly meant what He said, proof of the Truth and the Power of Our Good Lord Jesus Christ.

So, why worry about the date of Second Coming when our Good Lord Jesus, The One we are waiting for, we as Catholics are already receiving?

If you are not able to attend holy mass, you can still find the Real Presence of Jesus in the Catholic Church because the Consecrated Bread/Sacred Hosts are kept in the tabernacle. There is always a candle lit right next to the tabernacle indicating that the Real Presence of Our Good Lord Jesus is reserved in the tabernacle.

Try it, go to any Catholic Church and greet Our Good Lord Jesus. Ask Him with true sincerity to make His presence known to you. And believe me, He will not fail you. He will make His Presence and His Truth known to you in your life.

Praying for you and for all!

Blessed be Jesus and Mary!

Hi

He will come on the last day. If there is a so-called rapture, it will be on the last day. There will be suffering for all the faithful near the end, until the last day.

I suspect that *my *end will come before *the *end.
How to recognize him?
I don’t know, but I won’t be looking for the red haired guy that’s often depicted.

Hi

I cannot grasp sir, as to what you want to convey with the sentence “Jews, and their number is suppose to reach 144,000”.
According to the World Jewish Population Survey of 2002,[1] “The size of world Jewry at the beginning of 2002 is assessed at 13,296,100.” According to a 2002 study by the Jewish Agency,[2] “There are 12.9 million Jews in the world…”
Estimates for 2006 usually place the world population of Jews around 14 million. Adherents.com cites sources stating that there are 14 million Jews in the world in 1970, 1977, 1983, 1992, 1995, and 1998. Additional sources cite the population at numbers ranging from 12.8 million to 18.2 million.[3]
All of these estimates include approximately 4.5 million unaffiliated and secular Jews, as well as those who practice Judaism and belong to a congregation.

The Jewish population has already reached the figure “144,000”.
Kindly elaborate for our understanding.

Thanks

Hi

Some say “end of time” while others say the “last day”; I think they mean by day a specific period and not of twenty four hour time.

Am I right?

Thanks
Hi.

You are not right.

Mt 24:36 “… No one knows about that day or hour …”
That is why we are not too bothered to forecast the time of His coming.

Mt 24:27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Christ’s second coming will not be in secret, witnessed by only a favoured few; it will be visible to all … as lightning is visible to all. 🙂

So don’t believe anyone who say to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or ‘There he is!’ - do not believe it.
Mt 24:23-26 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time. So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.

And when He come He will come as King.
Mt25:31-32"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, …"

Mt25:45-46 The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ This then will be sent off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

So don’t be silly looking for the second coming of Jesus, because when He will come, you will know who He is.

Hope that helps.

Paar,
You may have already grasped this idea, and if so, I am sorry for posting it again. When Jesus comes again, it will not be in the “normal” meathod that a man comes into this world. This time, it will be “with a shout of the angel and the sound of a trumpet.” Jesus will descend from heaven. There will be no doubt as to who he is at all.

Now, we do not know the day, hour or time. The important part is that he will return and we should be ready. Even more so, we do not know how much time is allowed each of us. At any time, we can die. To that end, we should be as ready to meet Jesus as if we saw him on the way. That is the important part of the message. When you die, it might as well be the Second Coming for you!

**Surprising !! Such an important event and nobody knows the dates for certain !! A period of two thousand years has passed and people are waiting. The Jews are waiting for their Messiah because they did not accept Jesus. So their case is closed. Their Messiah will never come. But the christians are waiting for 2000 years. Is that easy?? Is there a mistake??

Please remember the words of Jesus when he said : “You will never see me again unless you say… ’ blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord…’.”

Matthew 23:39
For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’ "**

Luke 13:35
Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’ "

These words of Jesus may shed some light on the approximate day of his second coming.
Planten, I think you may have hit on something here? Jesus walked the earth, died, and appeared alive to eyewitnesses. Jesus said he will come again, but most of all **Jesus said to his church I will never leave you. **Now in the solemnity of the Catholic Mass. It is here that Jesus appears to us a second time when we pray and sing as a whole church worldwide as one voice at every liturgical worship **“Blessed is he, Blessed is he, Oh! Blessed is he who comes in the name, the name of the lord”.Catholics sing this at every Mass all over the world. **So to summarize, Jesus does appear to Catholics a second time, this we believe, Jesus is preparing the world to recieve him when he comes again as described in scripture in Glory, this is prefigured in time in the Mass, to recieve him in all eternity. God presently lives in the hearts and minds of his people who truly believe in him. So if you want to see Jesus today mystically and recieve God in your heart, soul and mind to prepare you for his eternal second coming I would welcome you to learn about this awesome Jesus through the heart, mind and soul of his Church the body of Christ on earth.

Peace be with you, for Jesus Christ is peace

paarsurrey and panten, Catholics already recieve Jesus body, soul, divinity and blood at every Mass ( worship) world wide. Our faith teaches us not to tarry about his eternal coming as the world does. For Jesus is with us always. Christians look foward to his Glorious second coming in eternity, but we have no fear as the world does, whether we see his Glorious (eternal) second coming in life or in death. Now you may find in other Christian denominations outside of the Catholic Church, who have made predictions and dates of his second coming. Your question might plaque you as it has others of a date, but only God the father in heaven knows the day and hour of his second coming.

Praying for God to enlighten you

We were just discussing that if the jews reached the amount as members of the tribes, this could mean the return.

But this is some of the ideas from the zionist movement, and I don’t think it has much significance anymore.

But of course no return yet so who knows, I doubt if in my lifetime anyways.
