Jesus Christ Himself told us, that “no one knows the day, nor the hour”.

As to how we will know Him? “He will come again in glory, to judge the living and the dead”…
Kind of hard to miss the glory of the Lord being revealed, no?? “And all flesh shall see it together”.

When He comes again, it will be as the Kings of Kings and the Lord of Lords, that He is and has always been.
As He instructed us, our job is to be ready to meet Him, that we may not be ashamed at His coming.
Perfect! He shall be like a thief in the night!!!

To worry about specifics does no good because Jesus himself said we won’t know what hit us!!! If we live according to his teachings, then not only should we not fear his coming, but we should rejoice in it! Death will be no more! If we knew specifics, how easy would it be for us to fall into procrastining with our souls.

The Fig Tree represents Jerusalem and Israel, figs are good works of the Jews. Jesus withered the fig tree after finding no fruit which is seen as being symbolic of the destruction of Jerusalem by Romans in AD 70, with further fulfillment when he returns to judge the earth.

Matthew 21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

Jesus prophesied that God’s Kingdom, namely the Temple, would be given to another nation, namely Islam which now occupies the Temple Mount and also praises Jesus as Messiah in the Quran.

Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

The fig tree would again put forth leaves, often seen to represent the restoration of Israel and Jerusalem to the Jews beginning in 1948. Prophecies suggest that within a lifetime of a person seeing that, Jesus would return which would mark about 2000 years since he ascended to Heaven.

Matthew 24:31-33 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Therefore, according to all this, Jesus may return very soon.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

1st century + 2000 years = 2 days = 21st century.

SATAN BOUND FOR 1000 YEARS, JUDGMENT

1st century + 3000 years = 3 days = Temple of New Jerusalem is raised.

John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (LIVE IN HIS SIGHT)

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. (JESUS IS THE BODY OF THE TEMPLE)

I warned you about looking for clues in Scripture. It is a self-contradictory path that meanders upon itself and ends in one of the hallways of the Winchester House in San Jose.

Well, be advised: it of no importance to the good news of Jesus, the Messiah for all nations.

If none of it is important why did Jesus instruct to preach the Gospel that God’s Kingdom is at hand, and to learn the parable of the fig tree which is a sign of his return?

Matthew 24:7-8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

F.O.A , Im not sure were you get your Christianity interpretation of scripture, but dont confuse your 19th century Christian instruction with 2000 year old Catholic teaching. I think Robert has been trying to warn you of your misinterpretation of scripture, especially Revelations, your protestant interpretation does not hold water historically nor by any scholary standard I know of, and I dont know much. I pray you can clarify from which Christian interpretation tradition you take from.

humbly accepting your own opinion

Hi

So even Jesus does not know as to when he would come. There is so much hierarchy of the Catholic Church; why don’t they ask it from Jesus and if he does not reply, then “father”?

Have they lost contact with him?

Thanks
Dear Paarsurrey,

Why did Jesus would like to tell the exact date and time of His second coming? If I do, I will commit everything necessary for me to enjoy myself, including doing sins, and stop doing that and be sorry a day or two before Jesus come. That will be nice.

But, that is exactly why Jesus never told us when. Even He warns us that He will come just like a thief in the night. Jesus wants us to be ready at any time and any place to receive His second coming. For sure, He will come in His heavenly glory. How to notice His second coming? It is easy. Once you belong to the kingdom of God, you will always be able to notice that. Because prior to his coming, He has sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within ourselves as he has promised in the gospel of John. The Holy Spirit will tell us.

Thanks for your explanation and guidance. I wrote what I knew to be correct. But perhaps my knowldge was limited in this matter. Nobody is teaching me against the christian faith. I am on my own.

After your post, I will read the mathews and Luke chapters again. I will try to understand. If I find something not well understood then I will come back with it, or with the same old question/ references. If your explanation is correct that it was about the entry of Jesus into Jeroshlem then I will understand that you are right. Thanks.
Planten, could you please use a larger font? My eyesight is not what it was and I strain to read the smaller letters, even with my screen enlarged to 150 percent.

Thank you.

May your reading of the Gospels be fruitful and may God bless your efforts to understand.

Hi

I think not many Catholics would agree that Jesus Second Coming is of secondary importance. To me it is the most important thing, that is why I am making these queries, please.

Thanks
Dear Paarsurrey,

You misunderstood the posting. We, the Catholics believe that the second coming is important. But, the exact timing is the secondary important. If you are interested in the exact timing, perhaps you should ask our Jehovah Witnesses instead. Who knows that they can convince you.

You ask a difficult ? when I am not sure where you are coming from,First of all, we are discussing Second coming of Jesus so I will attempt to keep this in context for the sake of the forum. From what I’ve read from your posts, you are using scripture to interpret a fixed date soon for Jesus second coming. This teaching does not hold up to the ancient teachings of the 2000 year Christian tradition, taken from scripture. The liturical settings and actions that are happening in the book of Revelations are an eternal liturgical action taken place in time. It is preparing humanity for Jesus second coming in time. The seasons and times, wars and rumors of wars, pestilence etc, are indicators that yes he is coming soon, but only God the father knows the hour and day of the coming of the Lord. Man must prepare himself, repent and obey the Gospel (God’s word). Not be axious, for we already know he has come and will come again.

Peace be with you, for Jesus Christ is peace

There is indication he will return after 2000 years when he said “destroy the Temple and in three days I’ll raise it” and it was the Temple of his body, and a day is like a 1000 years. He’ll rule with the saints for 1000 years while Satan is bound, then after Satan is released and defeated forever, at that time after 3000 years when he left, Jesus himself is the Temple of New Jerusalem.

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

If you mean, Jesus will return after 2000 years, then will rule for 1000 more after Satan is bound and can’t deceive the nations, that’s what I mean too.

Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

We can’t know the day nor hour but we can know the season.

This request has been asked numerous times now, i dont think it will change.

Hi

I think, It is wrong to say that Jesus’ Second Coming in this world would be physical one, he himself denied it. He said that whoever would come would come in his name.

John 16:10 KJV
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more
;

This is also confirmed by Matthew:
Matthew 23:39 KJV
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth
, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

So, Jesus Second Coming could be like Elijah came in the form of John the Baptist; at least I think so.

Thanks

It says they won’t see him again until he returns.

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Did you read this part as well?

John 16:16
16"A little while, and you will no longer see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me."
This is also confirmed by Matthew:
Matthew 23:39 KJV
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

This is saying you will not see him UNTIL you accept him as Jesus Christ and saviour. This is not saying you will never see him again.

Also Paarsurrey, the KJV of the bible is used by the protestants etc, for a proper Catholic version, its best to use ones that include the deuterocanonical.

QUOTE]they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Hi

I think there is some ambiguity here. On one hand it is said Jesus “they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” and on the other that he shall come like a thief.

Now you would agree that thieves don’t come with power and glory and blowing trumpets.

There seem to be some mistunderstanding somewhere.

Thanks

Hi

Thank you for telling me that KJV is a Protestant translation; please tell me the Catholic Version in English which should be as old as KJV.

Thanks

When it says in the bible:
Rev 3:3
Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

Its not that he is a thief so to speak, its more like a euphemism.
It means that Jesus will come without any prior warning and will come quietly without us knowing. That is why Jesus wants us to be ready at all times, he wants us to be free of sin at all times. We dont know when he is coming, nobody knows.

When Jesus said “destroy this temple and in three days I’ll will raise it” The Gospel writer indicates that Jesus was referring to his passion (death) and resurrection. Jesus rose from the dead in three days, not 3000 years later.
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

If you mean, Jesus will return after 2000 years, then will rule for 1000 more after Satan is bound and can’t deceive the nations, that’s what I mean too.

No that’s not what I mean. Jesus is truly risen, he has appeared to many eyewitnesses. We are not on the same page about the 1000 years either. The thousand is not to be taken literally. The thousand can mean an undisclosed set amount of time to mean many years.

Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

Again your taking the sacred text out of context. Substitute thousand with undisclosed years, and you can begin to enter the mysteries of God.

We can’t know the day nor hour but we can know the season.

]We don’t know the day or hour, the seasons are God’s confirmation that he is surely coming, it not only refers to first century Christians but to all believers and unbelievers who will experience both a spring and a winter…

Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
