OP, I’m confused about an aspect of your situation and I’d like you to clarify, please.
When you say you want to get married “outside,” do you mean “outside the Catholic Church” (as in, getting married in a non-Catholic church by non-Catholic clergy officiating) or do you meant “outside” as in “outdoors”? (Or do you mean both?)
In either situation, though, your fiance would need to contact his local diocese and request a dispensation from canonical form from the bishop. Whether or not this will be granted depends on the bishop, but it is the only way you two could be married outside the Church or outside a church and still remain in good standing with the Catholic Church.
Is your fiance an active Catholic? Does he attend Mass every Sunday? I’m trying to understand why he doesn’t have a priest he can talk to.
