Jesus is the Word… Himself is the Head. The Church is His Body.
…The Scriptures are the product of the Church, not vice versa.
Yes, the Word (Jesus) really created the church, not the other way around. The Word ( Scripture) testifies of this.

Even Vat 2 suggests it is better to say the bible (scripture) is a gift from God, to the church to the world . In like fashion the Savior is a gift from God to the world thru the Jewish nation.

Do we make similar mistake of the latter (Jews) and focus more on themselves as conveyors at expense of whom we are to convey?

So God just spoke and the writers recorded? No, that’s not how inspiration works.
Strawman (nobody says this), just like writers opining from their imagination and God says “ok, print it”.
Scripture is synergy.
God creates community.
This is better.

We are told it is not by the will of man nor by his own understanding, but by the power of the Holy Ghost inspiring, moving or guiding holy men. These holy men were first Jewish and then Christian. It is like a capital A working thru a small a. A global hearted, non sectarian God working thru His covenant people, the Jewish nation and now the Christian church.

So to say the bible per say is a Catholic book can be misleading, and requires the aforementioned qualifications.

So much energy spent on this (due to sectarianism? but I suppose Peter spent energy also to give us said texts due to fighting sects or false teachers/ prophets) instead of pondering His Words.

does the bible have authority over Jesus?
Again, even Jesus is " cornered" by His own Word, written or otherwise. He is true to His Word. He is bound by it, one with it, inseperable.

Do you really want to continue to pose that question?
.

No. Jesus is the Word. He has authority over the Scriptures. It’s impossible for Him to be cornered by the Bible.

Yeah, @lanman87 just said it.
What I mean by
but ultimately they are God Breathed and not from man’s imagination or opinion.
is that the origin of Scriptures is God. Not man. I’m not denying that Paul wrote in his own style and his own pen (or dictated to someone else) the words to put on the page.

But Paul (and the others) didn’t just write whatever he felt like writing. If the origin of what he wrote came from his own imagination then they are Paul’s words and not divine revelation of God. If Paul interjected his opinion instead of faithfully writing God’s message, instructions, testimonies, and instructions, as revealed by the Holy Spirit, then the New Testament is not the Word of God, they are the words of Paul (or John, or James, or Peter…).

In order for the Scriptures to be “God Breathed” then the origin of the scriptures has to be from God. And the writers have to faithfully write the “God Breathed” message. That doesn’t mean they don’t write in their own style, it just means they don’t deviate from the message of God, in whatever style they write.

But it’s still not monergistic.
Yes that is the wonder of it, the privelege of man. We stand fast in and by His work in and thru us.

I would think odd to take credit for something God did in and thru me, yet we shall be glorified also someday.

Hmm, you seem to be playing as if this is an ‘either-or’ question when it comes to what others say to you, then claiming it’s a ‘both-and’ when it comes to what you say to others.

Can’t have it both ways.

Which question…otherwise it seems we have come to some agreement.

Anyways, isn’t that the logical progression, that if it is not either/or it is both/and?
