Nothing wrong with feminists. A man who is for the equal rights of women is a feminist too and is a strong, secure person…
JPII was a feminist. He said it so himself. 👍

Feminism, in the way JPII used it just called for women to have equal opportunities in life. That’s a good thing. Radical feminism is what I don’t like.

I’ll get stoned for saying this, but in my experience, women also hate other women more than men hate other men. And then, there’s that female jealousy thing. I was floored one time when one of my adult daughters commented about how a woman, entering a social thing at which other women are present, immediately sizes up every other woman in the room. As best I could figure it out, some women are visually perceived by other women as likely to be friendly, aggressive, seductive, superior in attitude, spoiled, a big spender, on and on.

“Huh”? I said, not being aware until that moment that such a thing existed. Wondering if my daughter was being just a bit paranoid, I asked a significant number of other women about it, both related and unrelated to me, and got the very same result from every one of them. Some felt moved to comment how little I knew about women to even ask about it.

Men just plain don’t do that regarding other men. To a man it’s foreign.

Something I did learn much earlier in life is that women often pick fights with men in order to gain attention. Men don’t pick fights with women for that reason. Maybe some of this feminist talk is not a whole lot more than that, just kind of displaced.

(Now I’ll start ducking the rain of stones that are surely coming my way)
I am surprised that this post comes from you.

Moan!!!
Not the old JPll was a Feminist line!!

Show me a Feminsit that is 100% in compliance with Catholic teaching!! Then I will show you a Feminist that JPll would relate with.

You really think that JPll would relate to or refer to himself as a NOW Feminist?? Really?? Good Grief!!

Methinks this is why this thread was started. To confront the knee jerk reaction of asserting that sexism is predominately perpetrated agaisnt the Female. Education and Social Enlightenment in regard to the actualities is nescessary here.
We can agree to disagree then. But yes, I do believe that sexism towards women is way more predominant all over the world than sexism towards men. Especially in the Middle East and with the Islam religion.

Wow, there’s a lot of testosterone running in this thread. I’ll go on a limb and guess most are single. In a true marriage, the decision to be a stay at home Mom or work is usually made by both partners, at least that’s the way I did it more years ago then I’d like to remember. Some of those “choices” you talk of were made for them by their husbands when they split and can’t be found for child support. Lets face it, there’s sexism on both sides and it varies fro race to race, job to job etc. Just sayin, watch what you wish for because if I were just recently married, I wouldn’t want my wife to have to register for the draft. I know how hard it is to take care of three kids and I wouldn’t have done as good a job as as she did.
Think where women were 50 years ago (I was 17, how old were you) and tell me about all these rights and equality that they had. I think the macho male is a bit afraid that women may finally catch up with us. Seems to me I read somewhere that we were created equal.
Very well said.👍👍👍👍👍👍

Whatever sexism is perpetrated there does not justify the rampant sexism against Men here.

BTW - the men over there are treated just as badly as the women. It is more of a struggle of the haves against the have nots.

I am confused as to what you are saying. Yes, JPII said he was the feminist pope. Why do you have such an issue with that?

Not a single person in this thread is a radical feminist. In fact, you and I are probably both the type of feminist that JPII referred to. I am sure you believe in women’s right to vote, and in equal pay. And I’m sure you believe that women should be allowed to work outside the home and get an education and be seen as people, not property… and not objects.

If you agree with the above, which I’m sure you do, then you are the type of feminist that JPII was referring to.

Of course it doesn’t. I never said it did. I hate sexism on both ends. I’m sure we all hate sexism on both ends here.

This statement is severely false. I don’t even know where to begin.

The Saudi men are treated badly, the Arab men in Bahrain are treated badly? The only men treated badly are the foreign men brought in to labour.

Seriously? Nothing wrong with Feminists? Have you even been paying attention?

Go to you tube or Google and look up ‘National Castration Day’ and tell me you still feel the same.

Or look up ‘Testosterone Poisoning.’ Need I go on?

Indeed. The despots, like Saddam Hussein treated all badly. Men and women alike were raped by the republican guard in front of the other Family members to induce compliance.

I for one do not think of the bulk of the Middle East as being enlightened or as being the epitome of excellent comportment. Do you?

Yes.

The Islam religion is very sexist against women. Even my male Muslim friend admits it. For one thing, their religion teaches that the men can have multiple wives, but a woman can’t have multiple husbands.

In a lot of places in the Middle East, If a woman loses her virginity before she is married, even if she lost it through getting raped, her family has the right to kill her. Women there are also not allowed to drive and can’t leave the house without another male. And they must walk behind the man when they are walking down the street. They must be covered up from head to foot in order to not incite lust in men. They have to get all their body hair waxed before getting married so they can be be “clean” for their husbands. They basically can’t do anything and don’t have a say in anything. They are seen as property, not as people.

What you are describing here is radical feminism.

👍👍

I think Debora123 has made it clear that she IS NOT for radical feminism. So why keep asking those questions to her? 🤷
What exactly are the platforms for this male movement? What do men want to get out of that they don’t already have?

Funnily the networks are controlled by men. I could say how many heroes are female in tv programmes.?
Yes, there should not be warring camps, neither should it be about women or men ruling.
Yes? And most major networks are male owned by rabid, radical Democrat Liberals like Ted Tuner. His organizations are paid to propagate the classical ‘Divide and Conquer’ ideologies (like Feminism) that the Democrats are so fond of. You know… Rich against poor. Black against White. Feminists against Christian Women. Feminst Females against Males.

*You know Ted Turner… right? The guy that divorced his wife because she became a Christian? *

Correct. No one in this thread is for radical feminism, so no need for them to keep bringing that out to us. 👍

I am, yet again, confused by what you are trying to prove here.

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but are you saying that it is somehow sexist and unchristian for women to be a lead character in a movie/show?

What you are describing here is radical feminism.
No! That is just my point. The vast bulk of Feminism is anti male and anti church and radical!! . The technical term for what you are doing in your post is referred to as ‘NAFALTing.’(see Urban dictionary.)

There are good Female organizations like ‘Women of Grace’

I have *yet *to find a **Feminist **group that is in compliance with Catholic Teaching.

This all the more distubing when I hear Catholics refer to themselves as Feminist.

The true and whole Catholic church is in almost diametric oppositin to the vast ,majority of Feminists.

See here too. youtube.com/watch?v=D6rIkGjwGRo
