She told them leggings were too suggestive, so they wore them in protest—-

“My guy friends have sent pictures to me in leggings. People in classes have said, ‘Look at all of the guys in my class wearing leggings today.’”
I definitely wouldn’t want to see this in class.

Maybe instead of protesting modesty because it seems like a double standard, we could try to make sure that men are modest as well.

Already a few threads on this in the “news” forums. Just an F.Y.I.

Just read the article and 2 thoughts:
  1. Why is gender studies even being offered at a Catholic university?
  2. Leggings aren’t real pants.

This article would have more impact on me if the girl who organized the protest wasn’t a pro-abortion & pro-birth control activist who’s trying to force Notre Dame to offer birth control and abortion services.

Don’t believe me, just look at the mission statement of the group she’s apart of.

Sickening.

Is she catholic herself?
The girl said in one interview that the mother was saying the same old thing that she heard time & time again in Catechism class and in Catholic school.

So the fact that she said Catechism class makes me think she is a baptized Catholic.

Also, in my experience, non-Catholics rarely go to a Catholic college AFTER going to Catholic school. Usually, they have had enough Catholicism. So my money is on her being Catholic.

What’s wrong with leggings? Has anyone here seen depictions of what medieval men wore on their legs? If medieval art can be believed hoses worn by medieval men were pretty tight!(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
Think about what Errol Flynn wore as Robin Hood!
Women weren’t complaining about men’s clothing provoking women into lust!

Youth are rarely taught anything Catholic at so-called Catholic universities these days. Fulton Sheen said it best:

Proof that feminists are optimistic about men. Such are non-feminists’ pessimism about men that they restrict women’s clothing because of their despair over men being unable to control their lust. Feminists meanwhile have optimistic faith that men can control themselves & so there’s no need to restrict women’s clothing.

What do you mean? Those same feminists also think that masculinity is toxic and that men need to be specifically taught not to rape.

That men can’t control themselves around women, dressed or not dressed in leggings, is pessimistic. That men can control themselves & improve themselves is ultimately optimistic & benefital for men.

I’m not saying that the attitude that men can’t control themselves is not pessimistic. What I’m saying is that feminists are as pessimistic, if not worse. In the end, feminists don’t actually believe men can improve themselves to their liking: if they did, they would have nothing to complain about and their movement will become irrelevant.

Why are medieval ages the landmark of Christian faith? I love medieval art and music in Church but let’s be honest. During those times, religious people (priests, monks, nuns) were far away from the rest of the medieval world. I doubt people who were devout Christians would just put on a pair of leggings and go to Church. And if they did they would not be admonished by the priest. Or a woman dressed as a man? No, the middle ages are not a good comparison for us today. We misunderstand a lot I think.

“Choosing jeans instead?”

The jeans worn by some of the teenage girls at our parish are just as tight as leggings. I had to tell my wife that there is one family in particular that I will not sit immediately behind.

D

Jeggings. 😜 Would they still bother you if worn with a longer top or short dress over them? Just asking.
