She told them leggings were too suggestive, so they wore them in protest—-

Jeggings. 😜 Would they still bother you if worn with a longer top or short dress over them? Just asking.
Sometimes she does, and no, that doesn’t bother me; her zadnitsa is well concealed at those times. However, we usually get there before she joins the rest of the family, and we never know from Sunday to Sunday what she’s going to wear.

D

Maybe instead of protesting modesty because it seems like a double standard, we could try to make sure that men are modest as well.
Are you suggesting that the response to a double standard doesn’t always have to be doubling down on what people are criticizing? What madness have you just unleashed?!?!
Why is gender studies even being offered at a Catholic university?
I think I was wondering more why there’s a reproductive rights activist group. At least gender studies could potentially be done in a Catholic way. Doing activism around reproductive rights, though, just seems un-Catholic at its core.
Feminists meanwhile have optimistic faith that men can control themselves & so there’s no need to restrict women’s clothing.
I think this is less “men can control themselves” and more “stop telling me what to wear!”

Short tops and leggings aren’t a good look outside the gym. Those women just look like they have forgotten to put on all their clothes, like a man wearing only boxers and no pants.

It’s not even a question of modesty–no figure can fix looking somewhat crazy.

No the Middle Ages aren’t a good example of how to live.
I doubt people who were devout Christians would just put on a pair of leggings and go to Church.
The people in the article weren’t wearing leggings in church, just at a university.

I agree with the letter’s author regarding wearing leggings and crop tops in Mass. The people that I most feel sorry for today are young men trying to practice chaste living and hoping for chaste married life.

Gender Studies. Have to give the superfluous academics something to do, after all!

I can’t see the article, but I think this threat is a duplicate of it:

Mom pleads with Notre Dame female students to stop wearing leggings, sparks Catholic News
What do you think?

For thoses who reply that Men wear tights pants, and wore them in History, eg Middle Age, I will answer that they do not make men look great, it’s the contrary!

“Reproductive Rights.” “Womens’ Health Care.” The euphemisms for baby slaughter never cease to impress with their inventiveness.

Provided we’re all discussing the same letter to the editor, the girls were wearing leggings to Mass at the Basilica. The girls protesting just wore leggings around at school, which many students do these days and have for a while now.

So women should be able to walk around topless just like men do, right? The men will just have to work more at controlling themselves.

Tbh I don’t see anything wrong with leggings unless the color of your skin peeks through (basically it’s too small), if I can see panty lines (tacky) or if if the material is giving you a wedgie (gross). I used to wear them when i was younger but have now opted for jeggings which is slightly thicker and looks like jeans. Normal jeans are often too baggy on me regardless where I buy them from.

Most people I know don’t even think leggings are immodest unless they have one of those 3 things I mentioned above.
