She told them leggings were too suggestive, so they wore them in protest—-

haha I remember in school teachers would measure girls skirt uniform with a ruler in the hallway. Yet the boys could wear pants half down their legs and basically allowed to walk around in a tight undershirt. I mean if your going to preach about ‘modesty’ (which leggings are not even imodest anyway) at least do that to all your students. 19 now so this was 2 years ago or so.

I used to hear only about modesty for women. Then I ran across a Catholic mom blogger who has 6 (maybe 7 now) sons. She was the first I read who spoke of modesty for men – and she teaches it to her sons. No bare chests at the beach, for example.

It definitely is. If you think a priest’s experience is somehow close to the reality of today’s women (and even men)…you’re in for a huge surprise. Crazy if you think ‘impure thoughts’ isn’t regularly brought up in confession by women, especially younger ones too. Ask a young and attractive man, and he’ll tell you that women can be perverts lol. Or even in my recent post where I said 12 year old girls have started watching pornography and it’s pretty common. Women were even labeled as temptresses before the stereotype of ‘pure flowers’ even began.

People often complain about the promiscuity of women today, but forget everything when this topic is brought up.

I used to have an Australian oil coat one from Boot Barn. Just too heavy. I like the denim ones. And they have the split back for riding. (Western, of course. Not that weird English stuff)

I’d rather go to my grave not knowing such things, thank you.

Those coats look like our Drizabone ones 🙂
They do don’t they. 😃 Drizabone and akubra combo. I think prayerrider is being funny. I was referring to the young ladies urban fashion version.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

That denim won’t keep you dry though. You’d have to stay home in front of a cozy fire on rainy days without a drizabone.

Hence proving my point that women’s issues regarding sex are usually ignored by catholics 😂

I might just Scotchguard it next winter. Never wash it anyway. Has a nice scent now, lol.

Call me oblivious, but I didn’t know exactly what leggings were until these CAF threads. I had to google it. I’d of course seen them before…the pants that look like she has come straight from the gym…they’re suppose to be stylish…I gave it very little thought until reading these threads.

Somebody protested, and now leggings are really in style. Good Job!

I don’t agree that that is true. I think that a lot of the time Catholic spokeswomen have not navigated the path of living chastity in a world of sexual freedom where you learn what is what. When you begin to date, you have to acknowledge that it is more difficult for the male to be chaste. That’s just a fact. Women who say otherwise are ones that use contraception already and don’t appreciate the womans responsibility to her possible children. In marriage, where you have to respect the bodies fertile cycles and the moral requirements for avoiding pregnancy, you don’t want to make it harder for your husband to remain chaste by ignoring the things you know by instinct that say ‘available’.

I think we do our daughters and young women a disservice by not passing on this information that helps them live chaste relationships with their boyfriends and husbands.

Lol just kidding. But I wouldn’t mind if it had a tad of horse sweat aroma. Always loved that smell.

Every time I work at the high school I’m saddened by how the girls are so poor, they have to wear pants with a bunch of holes in them. It’s a real shame!

It’s not ‘more difficult’. The reality is that women and men on average have different experiences with sexuality. Fine. That should not be interpreted as ‘lust is a man’s problem’ or ‘men have it harder’.

Contraception actually affects sex drive. Also pretty judgemental of you to assume that they don’t appreciate their responsibility to their children.

Since you brought this up, I’m sure you know women’s sex drive often shoots up during this time. We shouldn’t tempt men, nobody is denying that. It is a sin. So that’s literally not my point at all, but rather women do experience lust and that’s often ignored or downplayed by religious people. And that men do have responsibility for their actions. People really need to stop treating men like children. They do have sexual desire, but lust can be controlled and avoided. God isn’t unreasonable in that way.

Fifty shades didn’t fly off the bookshelves because of men! Well…because of a fantasy man perhaps.
