Confuse and present your opinion as fact? We are discussing Islamic terrorists that tried to kill people attending a cartoon contest! There is nothing unlawful about arranging a cartoon contest and no person need be vilified for organizing the event. Prove that one of these entries could REASONABLY cause an atrocity to be committed. What type of non freedom do you submit to that has severely caused you attack this person in total?

So you were suggesting the church give indulgences for mocking Islam??? Pamela Geller has done absolutely nothing to advance the dialogue between Christians and Muslims-in fact she has made it more difficult. I expect her to start showing up at Muslim funerals carrying a sign that said God hates Muslims
I can’t believe how botched my little plan got portrayed. What I meant was forgiveness of abortions, rape and every other evil that exists, including the actions of the Muslims, in order for God to stop the Islamists from seizing the religion of Islam even further with it’s salafism -which then causes more terrorists and more fundamentalism.

…But it could be that I didn’t explain myself good enough. Or that I’m being childish to think that I could make any difference in this world. Or it could be that people are blind to the growing threat of Salafism and its effectiveness in making Islam incrasingly radical. Some people just dont take it seriously. 🤷

Isaiah and Ezekiel are Prophets too. Would you feel deeply offended if you saw a cartoon of them??

I’ll ask you the same question, it was an excellent point brought up in the other thread. If a cartoon depicted Ezekiel or Isaiah, would you feel deeply offended? They are prophets.

Definitely not. Also, I’ll be seeing you over there in a few. 👍

No we are discussing a contest to draw cartoons to mock Imam It has absolutely nothing to do with Islamic terrorists

Pamela Geller has done everything to advance Egalitarian Dialogue with Muslims.

No. Would you be offended with a draw cartoons of the Pope having sex with the Virgin Mary contest ?
No. I’d consider it ridiculous and absurd. Those are the kinds of things that Charlie Hebdo magazine would do. That magazine was so ridiculous, as for myself, I can’t take it seriously. Just like the old Benny Hill show, it was so silly, even if they might venture into offensive material from time to time.

It has everything to do with terrorists. Thats why the contest took place. Because of terrorists.

Again you erroneously conflate supporting their right to do it with whether or not it is appropriate to do so . The Norwegian recindijg their law on blasphemy in no way indicates their support for mocking Islam
You in no way are dealing with the substance of my argument.

Your analogy fails. Comparing Pamela Geller to Westboro fails on two counts. Westboro is only about the hate, and there is no violence involved in the response to them.

The correct analogy would be to be uncomfortable with the idea of twerking at a bombed nightclub and focusing on the twerking rather than on the violence.

Correct.
That is exactly why the context took place. It is only about terrorism in fact.
If terrorist attacks had not been the response against Hebdo, this contest would not have organized in the first place. That is the explicit reason for this contest.

Charlie Hebdo used to draw cartoons like that and worse… Jesus and Muhammad having sex, etc.

How come all the leaders of the world, including religious leaders voiced for freedom of expression when the Hebdo blasphemers were attacked, but not with this case? Because Hebdo was a liberal anti-Christian as well. The irony is that when all was done, they also blamed Christianity for the attack… They blamed religion in general to later attribute every bad thing islam does to Christianity as well. That’s the strategy.

I don’t think drawing cartoons mocking and blaspheming religion is free speech and I also think it’s not the right strategy, but I do see a hypocrisy among those who were so loud in defending someone like Charlie Hebdo, but not Bosch Fawstin, the contest winner in Texas.

If you ask me, we are dealing with Islamist terrorists who are all propelled by destructive forces which even they do not understand. They are like souls condemned to hell who no longer have free will. These terrorists go in different directions, destructive to themselves and to others.

Such is terrorism and why no one can understand it. It follows no rational pattern. It does not even follow a pattern of self-preservation. The world leaders have no answers. Their solutions are quickly absorbed by the fire and become part of the fire.

Unlike like the Islamist terrorists, the left appeasers, are driven by fear of Islamists and hatred for Christianity.

That is why cartoons won’t do anything. The cartoon won’t drive away the irrational fear Muslim extremists have towards their poor knowledge of God who has no mercy at all.
They feel they are the moralist judges, but simultaneously make an alliance with the leftists progressives who are the propellers of immorality in the west.

Good insight. Thank you.

Since the case of Geller being a hateful bigot has fallen flat on its face, all that is left is to slander her character for things that have not happened.

The nihilistic tendencies of a religious movement that describes itself as ‘loving death as much as the Jew loves life’ cannot be stressed enough. Nihilism in the nineteenth century was predicted (or prophesied) to be the greatest plague for future generations, and with the waxing of militant Islam, this prophecy has become fully revealed to be true.

Yes exactly. I do think this current nihilistic movement is a consequence of the “dictatorship of relativism” as our dear Pope Benedict XVI pointed out.

I think that both movements, militant Islam and nihilism embolden each other. None are new. They are both deniers of Truth. One denies Truth all together and the other has its own version of truth. Combined they both form a colossal anti-Truth, anti-Christ movement.
Sometimes I wonder if all of this is because of our lukewarmness.

In any case, I wanted to apologize as I now notice various typos I had on my previous comment.

I am aware that Judaism and Catholicsm along with the various branches of Christian denominations that worship the Triune God are worshipping the One True God. However, a political entity ruled by their self described law founded by a pederast and with huge numbers of their faithful waging a terrorist campaign to slaughter my brothers and sister of faith leads me to believe that Islam does not worship the same God I do. If they did they would not need to be converted, because salvation is through Christ only.

It has come to the point now where Mohammed, the man or the myth, absolutely NEEDS to be the focus of debate and/or criticism. This is not about people’s comfort zones any more, because Mohammed is the focal point upon which militant Islamism rests…
It is neither mockery, nor hatred, nor out of line to state in no uncertain terms a resounding NO! to those aims.
Pamela Geller at least is clear on where she stands on the issue. Catholics who are too uncomfortable to enter into this kind of conversation, by definition, cannot be clear.
We know as Christians that all people are made in the image and likeness of God. That means all people. Ahh even Muslims.

So out of 318. million people who live in USA.
There are around 3 to 7 million who are Muslims.
Our country is very diverse and we have around 64 million Catholics.
More than 80 percent of roman Catholics use birth control (which can be an abortifacient ). Around 28.1 percent of Roman Catholic women have had abortions. I think we Catholics desperately need to be evangelized.

37% of women obtaining abortions identify themselves as Protestant, and 28% identify themselves as Catholic (AGI).
At current rates, nearly one-third of American women will have an abortion (AGI).abort73.com/abortion_facts/us_abortion_statistics
** Since 1973 we have had over 57 million abortions as a nation. **

So what does this have to do with Muslims or extremists-- Let’s clean up our own nation before we can “smoke” out the radical Muslims by using arrogance, and violence. We are in the Easter Season still. Our life is very short and we need to be Alleluia people. I am not going to judge Pamela as I have in the other posts. I will pray for her. The most important thing in life is if I am pleasing to God.
Abortion is just as cruel a Jihad — and we have let it go on for decades now.

Instead of “smoking” out the Muslims why not take in the middle eastern refugees who are starving out there because of ISIL – Why not do something now instead of drawing stupid, small minded cartoons— As a nation do we have nothing better to do with our time (on a Sunday no less) then to have contests against a religion?

Bye-- I’m living in the Joy of the resurrection and if I have said anything in a bigoted way towards anyone or towards a Muslim – I sincerely ask forgiveness – If any Muslims are reading this–Get to know Our Lady of Fatima and what she asks all people to do. Believe me Jesus is worth eternal life and we have martyrs to prove that – right now! Alleluia!
