Btw, in the FICTIONAL tv show “Firefly”, there is a character who maintains a career as a high-price companion/prostitute just because she likes it. It’s really entertaining, but not realistic at all.
But when the law is changed, the state is effectively giving the message that this is now acceptable. To legalise prostitution would be for the state to give the green light of acceptability to prostitution. The lack of legal deterrent would likely lead to an increase in prostitution. The Church gave up the fight to keep sodomy decriminalised decades ago in my country - and elsewhere. (The same re Prostituion centuries ago if it ever did).
Yet Catholics have not stopped believing homosexual acts are morally unacceptable and society in general is still aware of the Church’s moral views despite these repeals.
So your unsubstantiated view on this and similar matters is erroneous in my experience.
Simply repeating your personal assumptions doesn’t make it true. But when the law is changed, the state is effectively giving the message that this is now acceptable.
I am a Catholic and I do not believe that all SS sexual relationships are mortally sinful.Do all Catholics believe that homosexual sexual relationships are wrong?
I know multiple sex workers who do the work because it’s a job that they enjoy.Btw, in the FICTIONAL tv show “Firefly”, there is a character who maintains a career as a high-price companion/prostitute just because she likes it. It’s really entertaining, but not realistic at all.
Don’t most? If it helps they are quite happy; they’re not addicts or coerced. Then they really need our prayers!
They don’t seem “resigned”, one is currently studying nursing, another is looking at restarting his degree in journalism. They view their self worth as highly as anyone.NO! It does not help!!! It means they are resigned and have lied to themselves about their worth. That means they believe that GOD did not make them for more then that!
Perhaps? But they would disagree and don’t feel less worthy for it.So? It still means they think prostitution is ok. Which makes them wrong.
I agree, people who think prostitution is okay are wrong. There is no and ifs or buts about it. We should pray for them, because they probably aren’t close to God.So? It still means they think prostitution is ok. Which makes them wrong.
That sounds a lot like praying away free will. It you worry for them I’d try praying for them to know God.That is their problem then. Though I will say a prayer for God to change their heart.
